I made these for one of my best friend's sixteenth birthday, I only used the filling, which was excellent, and "too much chocolate cake" for the actual cup cake. This was such a fun and different recipe! The extra dough was baked into individual cookies and stuffed with, also extra, icing! Yum!

I was searching for some awesome cupcakes to make recently and this was the first one to pop up and the name says it all! Instead of making my own cookie dough, which im sure would be much better and would fit it more in the center, i used store bought alreay made cookie dough and the centers were a little hollow because the cookie rounds were smaller but it still tastes AMAZING!! i made them for my family, who ate them all up, and then made about 50 more for an event at work and all i heard all day was how wonderful they were and where i got the recipe. I recommended this site and recipe and enjoy making these. It only takes me 15 minutes in the oven and they turn out perfect! Oh and I used fudge marble cake mix and a second time I used golden butter cake mix. Delicious!

I was looking for a gooey cookie dough center; I cooked these for the recommended 16 minutes, the cookie dough had started to cook. They were good, but not gooey. I will try again & cook a minute or 2 longer.

The cookie dough center made the cupcake a bit too sweet for my tastes. I don't think it's worth the hassle of making the cookie dough.

Oh my... I have an extreme sweet tooth and these were exactly what I needed! I did use pre-made dough (I was running low on time and ingredients) and used a chocolate cake mix, and these were awesome. My younger brother, who hardly even eat sweets and is picky when he does, LOVED these! Thanks for the idea/recipe!

Sooo I made these last week, an they were gone, like all delicious things, under 24 hours. lol. This house is full of chocolate an cookie monsters so I just had to make them, of course. I used a confetti cake mix an tried to dye it with black food coloring [[don't get it on your hands!!!]] an some cocoa powder for coloring. The mixture was a dark purplish but came out looking chocolately =) My mom said it reminded her of pudding..O!!! An instead of oil, eggs, etc, I USED A DIET POP. Not sure if that's why the tops looked so ugly afterwards, but hey, it's a wil healthier right!?! Because it was just for home, I didn't bother with a frosting an no one bothered to use the canned stuff [[lost in the cuppourd..]. All n all, THANK YOU!!!!!!! you genius you ;) I'll have to make them sometime when school starts.

Thanks, lovestohost, for a terrific recipe. My family went nuts over these- kids and adults alike. I used chocolate cake and chocolate frosting and these were just amazing- over a long weekend with extended family I had to make them twice.

LTH is a cupcake godess!! These were sooooooooo good!!!!!!!! I followed the recipe to a T and soaked in all of LTH's advice and they turned out cupcake perfection. A totally cooked cupcake and a nice cookie dough center. If YOU follow all the directions these will NOT fail!! I have already eaten 5 of them and I will blame my wait gain on Mrs. LTH =))

First off I am a huge cookie dough fanatic so when I saw this recipe I knew I had to try it. I made the recipe as directed and the result was WONDERFUL. This is definitely now one of my favorite dessert recipes. Just make sure to let the cookie dough completely freeze before you bake. When the middle is wet and the edges are golden brown, the cupcake is done. Don't over bake!

I really wanted to love this recipe, but I just didn't. I was expecting it to be different, somehow. The cupcake has to be totally underbaked and still be in batter form in the center in order for the cookie dough not to get cooked, but even with a "liquid" cupcake center the cookie started baking. It tasted good, but not great, so I don't think I'd make them again. UPDATE - I sent these cupcakes to my husband's office and they received rave reviews from his coworkers. His boss called it "the best cupcake I've ever had in my life." So I guess my personal opinion on them doesn't matter!

These are very good - family LOVED them. Cooked exactly as said, but used "cookie dough" frosting(from others): 1 1/4c flour, 1/2tsp baking soda & salt, 1/2c soft butter, 1/2c sugar, 1/4c packed brown, 1/4c milk, 1tsp vanilla - blend butter/sugar, add liquids, then dry. stir in 1c mini chips & frost!! DELISH!! ;o) Update: I just made these again - when the sides of the cupcake look like they're drying and the middle still looks wet, they're probably done. DO NOT OVER COOK!

These were fabulous! I made them for the people that came over to help me with wedding invites and projects. The perfect treat. I made them without frosting...was wondering if anyone has found a frosting that works well with these cupcakes?

Cupcakes were yummy, but to be honest I wasn't knocked off my feet like I was hoping to be based on most of the other reviews. Other than a bit of a texture change, I couldn't really tell there was cookie dough in the middle.
