These were a hit. Eventhough I hate it when people change the recipes when reviewing them (then you're not reviewing the same recipe!) I did make a couple of changes.lol. I added an egg because it did look a little dry and crumbly, and I used half white half brown sugar. They came out moist with a great buttery taste.

I added the 2 eggs as suggested and cooked it in the jelly roll pan. It was so dry and tasteless I was VERY disappointed. I will try this again with some of the other suggestions and see how that goes!

Pretty decent! I didn't change the recipe at all but may next time. They're not dry, but they did taste a little "floury".

If you are looking for an easy cookie recipe that you don't have to keep running to the oven to change out cookie trays, this is a good one.

Was not at all impressed with this recipe. The finished product tasted like butter and sugar, with the sugar being caramelized.

I added a little bit of milk instead of eggs because I did not have any eggs! It turned out good, but was a little crumbly. Could have been from the milk. I'm not sure. I also used a 9x13 as well like others said.

I took the suggestions of some other reviewers and added 2 eggs. I baked it in a 9x13 pan for about 28 min. However, they still were rather tasteless and dry. They had a nice chewy texture, so they might be tweekable, but as I made them, I wouldn't do it again.

I gave it a 4 only because I did not make the bars all the way according to the recipe. First I added an egg. I also did not use nuts. And I used white chocolate chips, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. They turned out very tasty!

I decided to take the advise of previous reviews and add 2 eggs. I was unhappy with the results. I expected it to have a cookie or a brownie consistancy but the 2 eggs made it taste like a chocolate chip cake! If thats what you want then it taste fine but it just was not what I expected.

If you like flavorless treats, this is the treat for you. If I could give this recipe a grade it would be a big fat "F+" for FANTASTIC FAILURE. It was a waste of ingredients, time, effort, and money.

This is the best, easiest cookie recipe ever. They taste like a chocolate chip shortbread cookie. And because you make them as bars they are sooooo easy. Don't overbake they are best just slightly browned.

These were ok. Based on other reviews, I added an egg and a tablespoon of milk. As others have said, they have a shortbread taste/texture to them. They are ok, but I prefer more of a cookie bar.

I will give it 3 stars because they are semi-good, but I wish I had read the previous reviews saying to add eggs for moisture. These were so dry. They were a little lacking in flavor, too, but I think that was mostly due to the dryness.

I did this exactly as written and it had no flavor. I added an egg and extra van ext the second time and it still didnt have flavor. I used oil and a little bit of butter (ran out of butter trying to make this recipe!) and then it was so greasy the sheet of grease and chips flew off the pan into the trash when I took it out of the oven. There is just no substitute for the original Toll House cookies, made in a pan.

I love these. They actually taste just like cookies instead of cake. I cut the recipe in half and spread in a 13x9. That is PLENTY for our family of four.

This recipe was okay. I liked the fact that it called for ingredients I always have on hand and it was fast and easy. However, the bars lacked flavor. My husband flat out said they were NOT good. They're not the best cookie bars I've ever made. I wouldn't recommend this recipe based on flavor, but they were fast and easy! Also, FYI, the recipe doesn't need the egg other reviewers added. The mixture is supposed to be crumbly-the butter adds fat and oil for moisture-so you can press it in the pan like the recipe says. These are bars, not cookies, so the mix doesn't need to be cookie dough consistency.
