These were really good! I needed something quick and not too involved to bring to a family function..and this was perfect! I left out the nuts due to allergies and added 1/2 cup of toffee chips. I also cut the recipe in 1/2 and used one 9 x 13" pyrex dish to bake. It took a total of 23 min to bake. They were soft, chewy, and very sweet, but so good! I'l be making these again for sure!

Just what I was looking for! Delicious, chewy. Halved the recipe and spread in a pan a little larger than 9x13 with great success. Omitted the nuts and still very good.

I made this for my kids birthday party, and everyone loved it! I made the dough exacting as the recipe states, but I used an 18x13x1 in aluminum pan (got at Sam's club) and it worked perfect.Since the dough was thicker I baked it for about 25-30 mins, in a gas oven. Definatly a keeper recipe

Very yummy...made these for my hubby's birthday as they are one of his faves. Halved the recipe and also cooked in a 9x13 pan which is actually a perfect size! Cooked for about 20 mins, and they tasted great, my 3 boys loved them too!

These were great...except that I also cut the recipe in half and used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup crisco shortening...

You guys do know its the same recipe that's on the back of the chocolate chip bag....right? Only doubled. Still a good recipe, the bars came out great. This is not some type of original recipe though.

Yummy cookies! I halved this recipe and cooked in a 9x13 for thicker bars, soft in the middle, chewy on the outside. Perfect.

I halved the recipe, and used carob chips in place of chocolate. Otherwise, it was the recipe to a T. Did anyone else find this a bit salty, with baking soda aftertaste? Granted there is always the possibility of "user error," so I'll try this recipe again with a modification or two.

I halved the recipe and put in a 9x13 pan. There was waaaay too much butter and they're greasy. I'll still bring them into work for a potluck, but I'm not sure I would make them again. If I did, I'd reduce the butter to 3/4 C.

I did have the recipe and put it in a 9x13 inch pan. I did one cup of milk chocolate chips and 1/2 a cup of mini reeses pieces and then baked it for 18 minutes, though I should have done it for 22 minutes. I had to get them to a party, so I stuck them in the microwave for a couple minutes and then left them outside the host house to set...they were really good.

Great Recipe. I am making it for my husband for the second time in two weeks. He is a milk chocolate fan, so I just substituted milk chocolate chips. I also 1/2 the recipe and bake in a 9x13 pan for about 18 minutes.

I made no changes to this recipe, and they turned out just okay. They were way too gooey in the middle (seemed undercooked to me) even though the edges were completely done. The flavor was a little off, as well. Too buttery, maybe? Next time I'll cut the butter and sugar, and spread in a thinner layer.

My family are big fans of this kind of thing and this stuff sat on the counter untouched after the first taste. It seemed thick and cakey rather than moist and chewy as I had hoped. I won't use this again, but if you like cakey bars, you will like.

guess I should have read the reviews. I cut the recipe down to make only one pan and it would not cover one pan so then I made another 1/3 and still kind of skimpy we will see how they turn out.

They were ok but way too greasy. I greased the pan as it said to do in the instructions but I honestly think I shouldn't have. The bars were falling apart because of the amount of butter so I refrigerated them to solidify them up a bit.
