I made this and served it with storebought gingerbreadmen cookies. It was very sweet but tasted good. I served it at a party and there was a lot left. I think because cheese balls are not normally sweet, people didn't know what it was. I liked it and will make it again.

I made this for a party and everyone raved, most had never had a dessert cheese ball before. The other reviews really helped. I grated a chocolate bar into my mix and thenn made 2 seperate smaller balls, one with the pecans, one with out. Around the pecan one I placed chocolate grams. Around the non-pecan I placed Ginger Snaps. My platter was emptied within 1 hour. And I already have requests for more at Thanksgiving, less than 2 weeks away.

This recipe is magnificent! I took to work and everyone loved it! Definitely added extra chocolate chips and I used milk chocolate chips rather than semisweet. I increased the confectioner's sugar to 1 cup but think it would have been good with less as well. Also, the mix will be very sticky when forming into a ball and rolling in the nuts so coating your hands with confectioners sugar or even a little cooking spray may help keep the mix from sticking to your hands. Make sure to let it chill long enough after you form it into the ball, I actually just did it in the bowl I mixed it in, chilled overnight then rolled in the nuts the next morning.

FIVE STARS! I have been making this Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball for 6 1/2 years and have taken it to guild several times and today I took it to our family reunion. As usual, someone had to ask for the recipe. It is uncommon and delicious and I am never disappointed.

This goes over great at parties - its something different - not the usualy salty type stuff!! I would not suggest using fat free or reduced fat cream cheese for substitute - it completely changes the flavor...

I always get rave reviews with this one, with a couple of changes: I put only about 1TBSP of butter in, skip the pecans, and blend 1/2 package of Chipits Skor bits into the ball, rolling it in chocolate chips to finish. Absolutely fantastic.

Ok... normally I'm really good about reading every review before I make something.... but I thought oh what could we change about a cheese ball... I saw that extra sugar would give it extra girth... so when it was runnier than runny I added and added and added sugar then... 5 minutes before the party started I decided it would just be a dip, it was still really good though. I made it with LOWFAT MARGARINE and LOWFAT CREAM CHEESE... I know now, after reading the rest of the reviews, that is the reason why it was so runny. Next time I won't be so calorie conscious and I'll just make it the right way. Good though!

This is extremely easy and has an excellent presentation. I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned margarine is not a good sub for butter in this recipe, but it was all I had and I can't have butter anyway. I decided to use the help of the freezer in this one and chose not to make a ball. Instead, I mixed it up, then put in a bowl with oiled plastic wrap and placed in the freezer for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Then I inverted onto a serving plate and pressed the pecans in. Looked good, except when I took it to the bbq I should have kept it in the fridge prior to serving--melts a little. Was a hit with homemade graham crackers. Thanks!

This was so good and I don't have a big sweet tooth! I even used 1 full cup of powdered sugar instead of 3/4C and upped it to a full cup of choc chips in the mixture instead of 3/4C. This time I think I'll mix some choc chips in w/ the nuts to roll the cheese ball in as well.

This wasn't bad. Brought it to the families for the holidays and it was partially eaten. I personally think it had too much of a butter taste. If I make again I will try cutting out some of the butter and see if it's better.

This is a great recipe. I used a recipe similar to this last winter and made 2 and made it a snowman. I used stick pretzels for his arms and red construction paper around his neck for a scarf I made sure the chips were on the inside or mixed in and used chips for eyes it was a big hit. My husband made him a black hat out a used ribbon holder. it was really cute

Very addictive! I omitted the pecans and didn't roll the mixture into a ball (out of laziness), just served as a dip with chocolate and regular graham crackers. Some people will think this is too sweet but I can't get enough of it!

This is very sweet. It got good comments at a party. However, I was not able to form a "ball". I served it as a dip. Even after chilling, it never got firm enough to hold its shape.

This tastes just like cheesecake but without all the effort! I will definitely make this again. Lesson learned: put it in the freezer to make it set. I served it with vanilla wafers and chocolate graham crackers.
