My suggestion for this recipe is that if you have a 1200 volt microwave that you microwave like it says for 5 mins on high 1/4 turning every min. and then put it on 4-5 min 50% power. they turned out great and a quick way to cool is in the fridge.

These were so easy, and very good! A great way to make up for our broken oven!

These were great! I did add 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter and cook at 50% for 11 minutes as suggested by other reviewers. I also made this in a round pan to avoid overdone corners. This recipe is a keeper!

Please follow Pam's advice here! Add 1/4 c peanut butter to the batter (when you're creaming the butter and sugar), then bake about 11 minutes on 50% power. I used mini chocolate chips and added some M&Ms because I didn't have enough chocolate chips, then sprinkled the remainder of the chocolate chips on top. Delicious! Especially good if you like brown sugar (and the taste of peanut butter, mmm). I couldn't wait for them to cool... ate some of them directly out of the pan with a spoon. The batter tasted a little floury unbaked, but that seems to be resolved now.

My daughter made this recipe for her 4-H microwave cookes & won Champion! We did make a few changes...we cooked them at 50% power for 10-12min. They baked up perfect & moist. We also took a suggestion & added 1/4c. creamy peanut butter...making them Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars...the judge LOVED them! We have made them many times this summer & people can't believe they were made in the microwave. =)

For a quick treat I thought it was delicious, but it was a little dry in the center. They may have browned up and been more gooey if cooked in the oven. Other than that I thought it turned out nicely. I will definately make this again.

Good option when you don't have much time. Tastes good but are more cake-like than cookie-like. Also, had a bit of an issue getting it evenly cooked (maybe just my microwave) but still good even when chewy.

This was a great recipe. I did bake them in the oven (as suggested by other reviews). I baked them approximately 20 minutes at 350. They were a treat for after a soccer game and were devoured! Will definately make again!

I would rather have oven baked bars, but these are good when you need something quick or don't have an oven.

These were great!! Sure they didn't brown like they would have if they were baked in an over, but for a great, quick snack I would definitly make these again. I followed the recipe completely except I probably put about 3/4 cup of chips in the batter and sprinkled about 1/4 cup on top. They were very moist and chewy. I really don't know why anyone had problems with them being dry. My microwave has a turntable so I didn't need to stop and rotate the pan. I have a 1000 watt microwave, maybe others have a higher or lower wattage. I was very hesitant to try this because of some of the reviews, but this will be a staple, especially when we are on the road in our new RV. Thanks so much!!

These were okay. I don't know if it's because I put them in the oven, as another reviewer suggested, but these came out way too cakey. They tasted good, yes, but not great... I wasn't blown away. Followed the recipe exactly. I feel like the dough was missing something... And I was in a hurry so I cut them while they were still pretty warm, and they didn't turn out too presentable -- possibly because of that. I highly suggest you do wait until they're cool, otherwise you'll get chocolate everywhere because you'll cause the chocolate chips on top to melt when you cut them. EDIT: I don't know why, but after a few days, these tasted amazing! I took them to school and all my classmates absolutely loved them... SO, as such, I now give these five stars!

This is a quick and easy alternative to chocolate chip cookies, and is a wonderful recipe. I added about 1/4 cup of creamy peanut butter to make them chocolate chip peanut butter bars, and put the all the chocolate chips in the batter. I baked mine in the oven at 375 degrees for 15-20 and they turned out perfect, firm around the edges and chewy in the middle! A great fix for a chocolate craving or a sweet tooth!

these are very crumbly and cake-like. if you're expecting a granola-bar-type taste, this isn't it. however, it's a simple recipe and nice to not have to use the oven.

This recipe turned out great, however I did bake them in the oven. I was concerned they would turn out dry as others had shared. I followed the recipe exactly. I baked them at 375 for approx 15 minutes. My family ate them up and asked me to make more the same day!! Thanks for the recipe!

I made those on sunday, cuz my oven broke down, and wanted to bring the dessert as usual. Very good and easy to make. Takes no time at all. Very cake like and a bit chewy at the same time. Very similar to the chocolate chip cookies' dough.

They're alright when you're in a pinch and itching for a chocolate chip cookie fix. A little styrofoamy, but maybe if I reduced the time in the microwave that would be different... Anyway, they're best with milk to counteract the dryness.
