This was a good frosting paired with Dark Chocolate Cake II. A pretty, easy-to-spread texture that is almost fluffy. I had to use 5 ounces of melted Guittard dark semisweet chocolate to get it to the level of chocolaty-ness I wanted. I also omitted the cinnamon. I used less than 4 cups of powdered sugar, and maybe 2-3 T. milk. Still, I would have preferred a more fudge-like frosting.

We loved this frosting! Two of my kids, plus my husband, have April birthdays, and this frosting was a hit with them all. I used only 3 cups of powdered sugar, and 2 Tbsp. milk. The frosting will stay fluffy and easily spreadable in the fridge for days- I still have some in a container from a week ago, and it's just as delicious as the day I made it.

YUM! This frosting is SO good. We love the combination of chocolate and cream cheese. In fact after my son's birthday party tonight, my husband asked if there was any leftover frosting from the cake. He's sitting on the sofa now eating it with a spoon.

This is a great recipe. I used 3 cups of sugar instead of the 4 and it still turned out great. Although, I think you can still use the 4 cups and have a great frosting. I will never use store bought again.

OMG!!! This is the best chocolate frosting I have ever tasted. I left out the cinnamon, and used Hersheys special dark cocoa powder. It was sooooo yummy. I just put it in the fridge in a tupperware bowl to use the next day, and it was sooo easy to use. Definately a keeper.

This is a great recipe as is! Don't be afraid to use the cinnamon. I used this and Dark Chocolate Cake II to win a dorky little chocolate cake bake off at my work. It's definately great for people not too found of overly sweet frostings.

Simple to make and tastes great. I frosted "Sandy's Chocolate Cake" with this frosting and then drizzled Chocolate Ganache over the top. The cake got rave reviews from everyone and there wasn't one bite left.

This is the best chocolate frosting I've ever made. The cream cheese really gives it a great taste. I added a tad bit more cocoa to make it more chocolately. When I use it for layer cakes I just increase the sugar a little to thicken it up.

i used 3 cups of confectionery sugar and it still turned out fine. this frosting was amazing when paired with the Dark Chocolate Cake II recipe from this site. it's even better when the frosting is allowed to sit overnight in the fridge.

This turned out very good, unfortunatly I did add a bit too much milk. This was only my scond time making my own frosting, so I was very happy, ans so were the kids that ate the birthday cake. :)

Fabulous icing (I don't include the cinnamon though)....since I started making this icing, I cannot stand the taste of store bought icing. Try it...you will love it.

I love this recipe. It's easy to make and tastes awesome. I would suggest refrigerating it before use because it becomes uh sturdier and easier to ice with.

My husband LOVED it, and I thought it was very good. I used extra cocoa powder, and per the reviews, I left out the cinnamon. We do not eat sweets on a regular basis, so we felt it was perfectly sweet enough with half the sugar. I used it to frost a cake I made using my great-grandmother's recipe. Yummy!

I am not very good at making frosting, but this was the best!! I didn't add in the cinnamon, but followed the rest of the recipe, it is wonderful. I planned on making a cake with this frosting, but instead my husband and I ate most of the frosting out of the bowl. Excellent!! I won't buy the canned stuff anymore!!

Very creamy and tasty. No sour flavor from the cream cheese. It was an easy icing to work with both to frost and decorate. I don't think that the cinnamon will appeal to everyone but it is easy enough to leave out or replace.

Very Good! I omitted the vanilla because I could not find it in the house and the cinnamon because I just didn't think that would be good. I will definately make again. Thanks!!!:-D

Very good recipe! In addition to the cocoa I added 1 cup of melted dark chocolate because the frosting did not look too "chocolaty." It tasted really good. I left out the cinnamon because my husband's not a big fan, and I added a little more powdered sugar because the frosting was not thick enough--probably because I added the chocolate. I especially loved the smooth texture of the frosting after it was whipped for about 8 minutes. Definitely a keeper!
