I was looking for a chocolate fix and didn't have any cocoa powder for my usual brownie recipe so I tried this recipe, since I had all the required ingredients. I followed the recipe exactly, including the frosting, and it was easy to make. I thought they were a little dry when I tried the first brownie but when I tried another one the next day I discovered that they had improved overnight and were very moist and chocolatey. I think they are more cake-like than brownie-like, but a delicious dessert nonetheless. Thanks for sharing!

Amazing brownies, a snap to make and infinitely better than any other brownie I've made (scratch or boxed). There is no substitute or comparison with anything else! Make sure to thoroughly beat the eggs for the best consistency!

50 stars! These brownies are fabulous and sooo easy to make! Even my husband, who doesn't have a sweet tooth, couldn't keep his hands off them! Very dense, moist, delicious brownies that are a sure hit.

I made these after reading all of the rave reviews about it, but I must say, it was a major disappointment. I'm not usually one to write a bad review, but man, these were really awful. First of all, these brownies don't rise, and the only way you will get a thicker brownie is if you do put them in a smaller 8x8 or 9x9 pan. Secondly, if you do happen to eat these while still warm (which is the best time to eat a brownie), they have a sponge-like consistency and a weird (not in a good way) taste. I was willing to give these brownies one more chance, however, since one of the previous reviewers suggested to wait till they were completely cooled off. I will say that there was a definite improvement in the taste and consistency, but only enough for me to increase my rating to two stars. Just to validate that I'm not crazy and I don't have eccentric taste buds, even my 3 girls ages 7, 4, and 2 tried these and didn't like them...and they love just about anything with sugar.

I will never buy boxed brownies again. I have made these 4 times in 3 weeks. Everyone loves them. And they are very easy. Followed the recipe exactly... Yummy!

These are the best brownies I have ever had! The chocolate syrup makes all the difference. I will never use a mix ever again. I made the frosting and it was very yummy, but these would be great even without it. They are so chewy and chocolatey...delicious!!

Great brownie!!! Really surprised me! These are very thick, fudgey brownies. And so easy!...they only required one bowl! Everyone knows that the best part of any brownie recipe is the very middle of the pan. So these are best when they are taken out of the oven slightly underdone and still jiggly in the middle. If you do this, dont cut into them until they are completely cooled. At first, they appear to be cake-like without the signature "brownie top". Once they cool, they are denser and fudgey as a brownie should be. Dont overcook these, or they will be cakey. And don't be tempted to rate these until they have COMPLETELY COOLED! Oh, and trust me...dont try and cram the batter into an 8 or 9 inch square pan..you WILL overflow. A 9x13 pan IS required..they are PLENTY thick! I completely left off the frosting. Didn't even need it.
