Chocolate Bliss Brownies

"I first tried these at a brunch and begged the hostess for the recipe. Sometimes I'll eliminate the frosting and just sprinkle the top with confectioners' sugar."

DIRECTIONS
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add chocolate syrup. Beat in flour, nuts and salt until blended.
Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean (brownies may appear moist). Cool on a wire rack.
In a small saucepan, melt butter. Add sugar and milk. Bring to a boil; boil for 30 seconds. Remove from the hear; stir in the chips until melted. Beat until frosting reaches spreading consistency. Frost cooled brownies; cut.

Great brownie!!! Really surprised me! These are very thick, fudgey brownies. And so easy!...they only required one bowl! Everyone knows that the best part of any brownie recipe is the very middle of the pan. So these are best when they are taken out of the oven slightly underdone and still jiggly in the middle. If you do this, dont cut into them until they are completely cooled. At first, they appear to be cake-like without the signature "brownie top". Once they cool, they are denser and fudgey as a brownie should be. Dont overcook these, or they will be cakey. And don't be tempted to rate these until they have COMPLETELY COOLED! Oh, and trust me...dont try and cram the batter into an 8 or 9 inch square pan..you WILL overflow. A 9x13 pan IS required..they are PLENTY thick! I completely left off the frosting. Didn't even need it.
