I thought this recipe was excellent and simple to make. The only thing that kept it from getting 5 stars is that I thought 1 tsp pepper was a bit much. Next time I will use 1/2 tsp. Other than that, it was awesome!! Thank you for a fantastic recipe.

Great recipe, will make again. I made a couple of changes that made the rice even better. I marinated my chicken in soy sauce and garlic overnight, used a bit more soy sauce than was recommended, and added a cup of mixed peas and carrots.

Quite bland exactly as followed. Had to tweak it up with a bit of garlic, chinese 5 spice, extra soy sauce, touch of ginger & LOTS of green onions.

Very, very good. I just tossed in some carrots and mushrooms to add more color and it was fabulous. Goes great with the Best Egg Rolls, a recipe I got from this site as well.

I marinated chicken tenders in a balsamic vingerette dressing for a few hours, added garlic, peas and carrots. Made a 1 dish meal out of it and it was good. Kids did not eat it as much as I had hoped. But good.

This recipe was great! It was a last minute decision for me to make it, so I made the rice, put it in a shallow pan and stuck it in the freezer to cool it down to the right temperature (cold). I Followed the directions pretty thoroughly, I did find that one tablespoon of butter for the egg was a bit much. next time I'll just spray with cooking spray. I had the left overs for lunch today, and you know, it was better the second time around! Next time I'll make the rice ahead of time and add some mushrooms.

Awesome recipe! Great way to use up leftover chicken and rice. I used leftover brown rice, and a stir-fry sauce that I had on hand. I thought the amount of pepper was perfect. This will be a staple around our house!

Good and easy to make. I made it at night then divided up into smaller containers to take along for lunch. Reheats well.

Very tasty and very simple to make. I probably added more soy sauce than the recipe called for... maybe 4 tablespoons instead of only 2. Also, I forgot to make rice beforehand, so I put freshly made rice in the freezer for an hour to chill it and it worked out just fine. This was a hit with the hubby and I will definitely make it again!

Be sure not to overcook rice. Hubby thought it was too oniony...use less next time. But was pretty tasty overall. I had never made friend rice before.

Awesome. I basically followed the recipe but added some shrimp, as well as chicken. I also added some peas and green onions when I mixed in the rice (which I cooked the previous day before and refrigerated. I'll definitely make it again.

I liked the recipe alot, BUT I recommend adding 5 spice powder, mixing in some water with the black pepper/5 spice powder

Amazing. The cold rice is definately the secret - I've made fried rice before, with warm rice, and it was always too sticky. Skipped the pepper and used SoyVay's Veri-Veri Teriyaki sauce instead of soy sauce - the extra flavor (tons of garlic and sesame) was a real hit. This is a frequent request at home now, even for the picky eater!

I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before making this one and it was a LOT of pepper--we jokingly called it pepper fried rice. That said, we ate it anyway. Next time I think I'll use about a quarter of the pepper and expect it to be wonderful!

This is very good, but I doubled the recipe and left the pepper the same and it was still too much pepper! I'm from the south so I love spicy, but the pepper just didn't taste right in this dish. Next time I will cut the pepper in half, but I will make it again.

I found this recipe lacked flavor in general; it did not taste like any Chinese fried rice that I have ever had at a restaurant. Perhaps if you added some teryaki sauce it would improve the recipe.
