Awesome recipe! I added more broth as people have suggested, I also used 3 boxes of long grain wild rice with seasonings (been sitting in the cabinets for a while and I wanted to use them up), I added them about an hour before serving and it turned out perfect. This also made it more of a chicken and rice dish so if you want more of a soup - use less rice. I believe me and my wife got 4 or 5 meals out of this one, it went a long way! Will definitely make again.

My family is in LOVE with this soup! We had it for the first time today and my husband can't stop talking about it. My two year old even asked for more after eating a very hearty portion. I took the advice of some others and added a clove of garlic, 1 T of dried basil, and 1/2 T of dried thyme. In addition, I didn't have the lemon and herb seasoning on hand, so I added 1/8 t black pepper, 1-2 T dried oregano, 1-2 t bottled lemon peel. I didn't have the time to use the slow cooker, so I just mixed everything, but the brown rice I used, together in my dutch oven, brought it to a boil, then reduced the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes or so. Then I added the cooked brown rice to the pot and let it cook for another 10 minutes. Absolutely superb! Would give it more than 5 stars if I could!

This was pretty good. Like others suggested, I just made minute rice & put it in for 10 minutes or so at the end. I also put celery seasoning in because I hate to buy celery & have the rest go to waste. It tasted a little more like canned soup as opposed to homemade soup to me, but I would still definitely make it again. It's great for a workday soup.

My family loves it. I add basil and thyme, also. I cook the rice separately and also cook noodles. I just put the rice or noodle in the bowl and then put the soup over it!

Great recipe! I used regular brown rice and added just a little extra water, otherwise I made this exactly like the recipe calls.

Super simple! I used two raw chicken breasts and shredded them right before eating. Added instant rice for the last 10 minutes. Only criticism is that I would have liked a tad more salt.

I make this often because it's one of the few ways I can get my toddler to eat both meat and vegetables (though I'm not sure if there are any nutrients left in the veggies after simmering in a crockpot all day), and I enjoy it too. I use different seasonings depending on what I have, and it always comes out tasting good.

This is the worst soup I've ever made or eaten. My husband will normally eat anything. He asked me "not" to save leftovers. Remainder went into garbage disposal and recipe went into trash. What a waste of ingredients and my time. I would have given it lower than one star if that had been possible.

I had chicken rice soup in mind today and found this wonderful recipe. Had to change a few things based on what was on hand. No frozen veggies so used 1 zucchini, 2 carrots, 2 celery, 1/2 onion, 1/2 lemon (squeezed juice), added 1/2T basil, 1T thyme, 1 clove garlic. The rice soaked up most of the broth so added 4 additional cups of water + 2 cubes of MSG free chicken bouillon. Perfection! My new favorite. *thanks*

I liked this recipe. I took the advice of others and didn't put the rice in until the end. The soup was tasty and flavorful and easy to make. I added lemon & herbs plus rosemary and garlic..... very good. Thanks for the recipe

Instead of rice I added Pasta and it was really good. I had read the other ratings and did hold off on putting the pasta in until the end and it was great. I have a picky husband and 2 year old and they both ate it all up.

This is my favorite chicken soup to make,it's so easy. I served it tonight with rye bread but sometimes I make biscuts. It's a perfect meal for a cold winter night.

DELICIOUS! I added a little black pepper and garlic powder for some extra flavor. I would also recommend reserving the chicken and rice til the last hour or two of cooking, as the chicken disintegrates and the rice soaks up too much liquid and gets mushy. But otherwise I love it!

This was really good. The whole family enjoyed it. Reading all the problems w/the rice turning the soup to mush, I came up with this solution. I made the soup according to the directions (adding a little more spices to my liking) and instead of adding the rice to the soup to cook, I made the rice first (I used instant rice) and then the last 30 minutes or so, just added the rice to the soup. Came out more like soup, not mush. Hope this helps anyone else. Thanks for the recipe Corwyn. This one is a keeper.

Good. But when preparing, I would cut back on the lemon seasoning. Also, for an interesting twist, used flavored chicken broth.
