Daughter (13-yr old who usually loves anything asian-inspired) didn't like. Husband said it reminded him of carry out "lemon chicken" but it was just "okay". I added some brown sugar because it just didn't seem sweet enough. That helped a bit.

MMMMMM...this is really good and really simple to make!! I highly recommend that you try it. The ingredients sound odd, but make a very tasty combination!

Well, I completely changed this up, so I'm not really offering a review - more of a suggestion, I guess. I dredged my chicken pieces (small chunks) in flour seasoned with the ginger, s & p, and cayenne, then sauteed them with vegetables until they were nearly cooked through. When you add your liquid at this point (the mandarin juice), you don't need to worry about cornstarch, because the flour on the chicken will thicken the sauce. I even needed to add soy sauce (partly for flavor) and a bit of chicken broth to mine. The seasoned flour helps flavor the chicken and keeps it moist, too.

WOW! This is really good! Very spicy and tangy and has a unique flavor. I halved the recipe, except I used all the juice from the oranges by accident. I think it turned out better than if I had used half the amount because there was more sauce to pour over the rice. Also, I cut the chicken into chunks and I didn't use cilantro as I didn't have any on hand. Other than those few things, I followed it exactly. The chicken came out very juicy and tender. Will make this again for sure.

I tried it because it sounded unusual and it seemed to be getting good reviews, but the oranges were weird tasting (especially as they cooled on the plate). The chicken was OK, but most of it ended up in the trash!!

interesting taste, i didnt care much for it, but my husband loved it. he's cuban so he enjoys citrus and fruit flavors in food, where im not used to them. the cornstarch made the sauce perfectly thick, the cilantro is a must, it balances out the citrus. might make it again, probably would add some more spice to it for my personal tastes.

So tasty!! I opened a can of mandarin oranges for my two year old today at lunch, only to discover she doesn't like them. I wanted to use them up before they were forgotten in the fridge so I made this for dinner. I'm so glad I did!! What a nice, quick way to make a healthy, flavorful meal. I added some steamed brocolli as well. A keeper!

This is my absolute favorite recipe. My mom has been making something similar to this for years and I can never seem to get it quite as tasty. She simmers her chicken in the sauce until the chicken starts to fall off the bone. YUM!

This chicken was so/so. It was rather bland, even after the cilantro and adding toasted sesame seeds. But it was definitely healthier than many other recipes and very easy to make. The best rice to use with this is jasmine.

I tried this recipe out of curiousity and was pleasantly surprised. My family and I all enjoyed this. My only variation was not using the cilantro since I did not have any readily available.

Delicious and refreshing, with just enough spice! At the suggestion of another reviewer, I used green onions instead of regular ones. I added the white parts of the onions as called for in the recipe, added most of the green chives with the oranges, and used the rest as a garnish. I also garnished with toasted almond slivers. This is definitely one of my new favorite dinners!!!

I thought this sounded really good but it didn't turn out that way. I followed the recipe exactly but it was really bland and the oranges didn't seem to mix very well with the chicken in my opinion. I've definitely found better orange chicken recipes before. Thanks anyway.

Mmmmmm!!! This is great! I added a little sugar to the mandarin sauce to sweeten it up. I used noodles since I didn't have rice, and then added some of those crunchy sesame sticks for a yummy topping! I love how easy and tasty this is!

I absolutely love this recipe and so do those that I have shared it with. I make it at least twice a week. It is so easy. I use onion flakes and 2 cans of mandarin oranges with juice and add 1/4 tsp chili peppers for extra zip.

Wow! What a wonderful, unique taste. Even my kids liked this one. I did use green onions instead of regular onions. I also ended up using more seasoning. Instead of sprinkling it on, I used it more like a rub. Will make again soon! Thanks!
