This was amazing! I did the maridnade exactly as per the recipe, but made some of the kebabs with pickled jalepeno slices as another member suggested and it gave it such a beautiful kick. By themselves, they were fantastic though - the marinade was delicious even though it was really simple. But sooooo good. I also used normal sliced bacon instead of thick - I think thick would have been too much - this was perfect. I also skipped the pineapple and just used red bell pepper with some of the kebabs with jalepeno and some without and it was amazing. Served it over a bed of rice pilaf and I was the hit of the night. My husband said it was the best meal I'd made in a long time! This is going to become a regular in my summer barbecue rotation!

We just loved it! I have made it three different ways. First the way it was originally supposed to be, then I tried Turkey Bacon which was not as salty as the regular bacon, but just didn't have that same flavor, so I bought Low-sodium bacon and what a difference! I also used green and red peppers. It is an awesome recipe and so easy to make - a bit messy, but it wasn't terrible!!

I have used this marinade (very similar...not so much oil..the more oil, the more likelihood your meat will burn) for pork kabobs. Besides onions, mushrooms and pineapple, I add chunks of green (red and/or yellow) pepper. I have never wrapped the meat with bacon...It might be good that way...maybe too much pork? I don't think so!

LOVED it! I liked the sirloin better than the chicken. I thought the chicken got too salty wrapped in the bacon. I also marinated for about three hours. The sirloin also tasted delicious without the bacon. YUM!!!

This was absolutely wonderful. I wanted to follow the recipe exactly, but thought I had honey, but didn't. So, as one reviewer suggested brown sugar, I used 2 TBLS and I added one large clove of minced garlic, but I do that for just about any thing I marinate. Husband grilled them to perfection. The mushrooms were even outstanding, as I am not a mushroom fan. Thanks for the recipe, definite keeper.

Very good. I used onions instead of mushrooms. Other reviewers were right about the bacon. Thin is best.

This is our go to summer recipe! We do this with shrimp as well, but we precook the bacon in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes. (Place bacon in a single layer between 5 sheets of paper towels on both sides.) We've also just marinated whole chicken breasts and shrimp, and sandwiched the meat between the bacon and placed in a grill basket. When prepared this way we grill the mushrooms seperately. This is so good served w/ a rice pilaf and "That Good Salad" from this site.

FANTASTIC recipe! A perfect way to barbeque moist chicken. I used red wine vinegar in place of cider vinegar and skipped the mushrooms because I didn't have any. I added green peppers and it was great! I will definitely be making this again.

Excellent flavor - meat needs to be marinated overnight to get the full flavor. I kept the meat in the marinade for 4 hours and it was far too "bland". I broiled the kabobs and they didn't smoke like other said they did. They turned out perfectly at about 7 minutes on either side.

Sauce was too mild and by the time the chicken was done, the bacon burned up. Not sure what we did wrong.

Good flavor, but definitely need to be marinated during cooking to keep from drying out. I didn't marinate because I had had the raw chicken in the marinade. Next time, I would keep some out to use.
