Loved it. Didn't have corn at the time. Added black beans, yum!

If I would've known it was this easy to make homemade chicken tortilla soup, I would've done it a LONG time ago! It's absolutely DELICIOUS and filling too. I shredded the chicken, and used more broth to accomodate the amount of meat. I also added black beans for more substance, in addition to adding more corn than the recipe calls for.

The absolute, hands-down best tortilla soup that I have ever made/tasted! I'm a trader Joe's kind of girl, so I used mostly their ingredients. I'm sure there are a lot of variations of how this soup turns out depending on what ingredients you use, but here's what I used to make the BEST SOUP EVER: Trader Joe's Chunky Salsa, Trader Joe's Frozen Roasted Corn, Trader Joes Organic Free Range Chicken Breasts I also added half a can of Trader Joe's Cuban Style Black Beans as well as some cilantro both as a garnish and in the actual soup. I first boiled the chicken breasts for 20 minutes w/ 1 clove minced garlic & 2 bouillon cubes, then shredded into small pieces. Then, I sauteed the chicken with the onion and spices, slowing adding in the chicken broth and other ingredients. I garnished with cilantro, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and the "Baked Tortilla Chips" recipe from allrecipes.com by Michele O'Sullivan. Happy Cooking!

Yummy, easy, & healthy! I did the crockpot method with aprehension but am now glad I chose to do so. I added the chicken in as whole breast and took them out about an hour before to allow to cool then shred. I think the chips are better served on the side so they do not get soggy. I also served with sour cream (yum-yum), shredded cheese, and avacado. Leftovers are even better!

I think this recipe is great. The only thing I would add is a diced avocado. It makes it just as good as any you get at a restaurant. Quick and easy, no big mess and great soup.

Really really good! I did make changes that a few others have mentioned. I boiled the chicken in broth instead of sauteing it. I did however saute the onion and garlic to get it cooked a little more. It was super easy and both my husband and I wished I had made more.

Oh my goodness...so delicious!! Easy and quick to make. I twicked it a bit by adding a little more chili powder, a little more garlic, a little more lime juice + zest and 1/2 c. Bush black beans & a little dried cilantro. My family raved over it.Can't wait to make it again. I was making it as a front was blowing in...doesn't get any better than this. YUM!!

I thought this was very good, not exception though. If I make it again, I will put more seasonings in - I thought it was a little bland. The tortilla chips really added flavor, so don't skip those!

Quick, easy, full of flavor. I want to try with a little more heat, and better chicken (only had a can of shredded chicken and I think this needs chunks).

This is a wonderful recipe! I make it all the time and my family and friends love it. I add a can of Jalapeno beans to the soup, it really adds great flavor.

This was a great recipe! Quick & easy. We omitted the corn and added a can of rinsed black beans. We also grilled the chicken and then chopped it before cooking with the garlic. We will definitely make this again!

Excellent soup! Extremely simple! I have made it three times now and I will continue to make it. My family doesn't like too many chunks so before I add the chicken (I use canned, precooked to save time) I use an emersion blender. It makes it the perfect consistancy. So quick and such an excellent flavor!

This was a really good tortilla soup. My kids loved it. I thought the recipe seemed to simple but it had a lot of flavor for a soup that came together so quickly. Will make again.

I made this soup for dinner last night. I pretty much followed recipe as written except I cut my chicken up before I sauted it and I added a can of rinsed/drained black beans. This soup was so simple and surprisingly good. My kids gave it a thumbs up so I guess I will be making this again. Thanks for a great simple recipe.
