I've made this twice now and we can't get enough of it! The 1st time I made it I followed the suggestions of others on the salt/spices and used Greek yogurt in place of the cream. It was really good! This time, however, I decided to use the heavy cream and ~OH MY~ it is heaven on Earth. Do yourself a favor and make the full-fat version at least once. You will not regret it. We like spicy food but I did cut the amount of the peppers by half so my 4 yr. old could eat it. She LOVES it! I saute or grill a combo of chunky-cut green peppers, onions, potatoes and tomatoes to serve on the side. This time my hubby wasn't around so I had to broil the chicken (I can't BBQ!). I put about 3 lbs. of legs & thighs, skin on with bones, on a broiling pan. I baked them 1st at 400 degrees for 35 min. then turned the broiler on HI and broiled each side until really brown and crispy. The rack was set at the middle position about 10" from broiler. Amazing! The chicken was so wonderful that I served the sauce (which I doubled) on the side but will put the chicken and veggies in with the sauce from now on. Could drink the sauce from a cup! My daughter wanted to dunk everything in the sauce! Thanks for the recipe!

This has become my favorite dish. A couple of changes - completly omit all salt from receipe. I marinade first thing in the morning to let the chicken get really soaked. Have both grilled and done on stove top due to a large storm and both ways are excellent. Also double the sauce receipe and serve with Naan. The extra sauce with the Naan bread may be my favorite part!

Im sorry I had to give it 3stars,but it wasn't how I imagined it would be. Unfortunatly it wasn't worth all the work you put into it. I love indian food and here,we have many indian restaraunts. But this recipe was missing something and I couldn't quite get what it was. It might have been something I did. However my husband was really pleased with it.

I probably broke all the rules making this dish but it turned out really good. I served it for dinner Sunday and everyone loved it. I used whole pieces of chicken (thighs, legs, brests), par-boiled them, put them on the grill to crisp up and just served the sauce at the table for dipping. I will add an additional jalapeno next time. Here in Buffalo we like our chicken spicy!

Recipe as written is very hot and salty, but with a few modifications based on other reviews, it's outstanding! For the marinade, I only used 1 tsp of salt, and for the sauce, I only used 1/2 tsp of salt and omitted the jalapeño. I also substituted a cup of plain yogurt for the cup of heavy cream in the sauce to save calories. It was perfect with these modifications and I will certainly be making it again.

We love Indian food, and this is one of the dishes we go to the buffet for. We followed others advice and omitted the salt (I can't imagine what it would taste like w/ all that salt.) It tastes just like the restaurants!! I always double the sauce for dipping. I almost wish that it wasn't as good as it is b/c now that I know how much cream is in it, I don't want to make it. This recipe is delicous!! We did not find it spicy at all- I think it depends on what you're used to and how Americanized your local Indian restaurant makes it. We have had MUCH spicier versions than this one.

Used a total of 1 tsp salt. Cut cayenne to 1/2 tsp and used 1/8th of a jalapeno--still spicy enough for me and my husband and a little spicier than my toddlers prefer. This is the closest we have come to replicating restaurant-style Indian food.

I made it for my kids because they love the tikka masala from our local grocer, Wholesome Choice. I guess i should've modified the salt and the cayenne. It was way too spicy, salty, and flat.

My husband and I both love Tikka Masala. We enjoyed this recipe. Like many others, I reduced the amount of salt. I also made the recipe twice, once with jalapeno pepper and once without. I know Indian food is supposed to be spicy but we felt that the cayenne pepper was enough spice.

This turned out really good but thankfully I read the reviews before hand. Way too much salt. I reduced it considerably, 1/2 tsp in marinade and 1/2 tsp in sauce and that was plenty for us.

I would actually rate this a 4 1/2 but that is not an option. I followed the other reviewers' suggestions and added very little salt because if you add the amount suggested in the recipe, it would be way too salty, not to mention the sodium intake. I served it with Jasmine rice and Naan. It was almost as good as my favorite Indian Restauraunt, almost.

This chicken was very good. I didn`t use so much salt, I added just "to taste". The only thing I would change the next time I add a little water with the grilled chicken to the tomato sauce.

This was pretty good. I made it with the following adjustments: I was very sparing with the salt, swapped the cumin in the sauce for garam masala, and did half the amount of cayenne and jalapeno pepper. It worked out well except for that last one, because while it had a nice flavor it had no real kick. Next time I'll do the full amount of pepper and see how that turns out.

GRAND SLAM!!! This recipe really impressed my in-laws and they fought over the leftovers! In addition to the changes others made, (elimination of salt and halving of cayenne) I doubled the tomato sauce, cream and the spices that went in the sauce because you will need extra to pour over the rice. I also used light cream to save on the fat and it was still delicious! Next time I will try Evaporated milk or whole to cut down even further. I also brined the chicken beforehand to make it extra tender and used a grill topper to eliminate the time consuming skewering process. I'm a cilantro fan so added a Cup of chopped cilantro to the sauce and let it simmer before adding the chicken. DELISH!!!! This one is definitely a go to recipe even if you don't normally like Indian food. Thank you thank you Yakuta!!!
