We made this for a baby shower and everyone loved it. We followed the recipe, but left out the bacon and it was delicious! The ginger adds a lot of flavor. This one goes to the top of my list!

This recipe was EXCELLENT! I made just a few minor changes (based on what I had in my pantry). I omitted the water chestnuts and added about a tablespoon of slivered almonds instead to keep the crunchiness. I used mayo (as opposed to miracle whip). I was also out of minced onion, so I substituted with chopped up french fried onions instead. I will DEFINITELY make this recipe again! Thanks for the submission Cathy... it was YUM YUM!!

Didn't have (or need) water chestnuts, just added a few extra celery bits to make up for the loss of crunchiness. Also, used the shredded chicken that comes in a can and I actually think it held together better than diced chicken would have. Delicious!

Wonderful! I made a batch, ate it up and then went back to the store to buy more chicken to make a second batch! I used grapes and granny smith apples, no water chestnuts, no bacon and added some curry powder. One thing though: Mayonnaise. Whoa. I mean, it calls for a lot! I halved it on my first batch and used even less the second time around. I would say, just be careful, adding and tasting as you go.

I was delighted with this recipe. Due to personal preference, I doubled the wet ingredients, as I like my chicken salad a bit more moist. The flavor was excellent and it was simple to through together. Loved it!

I liked this recipe a lot. I had a craving for chicken salad, but didn't want to go shopping for more than what I had in the house. So, I substituted pecans for water chestnuts, skipped the bacon, celery, onions, and (actually just forgot) salt. To the remaining dressing ingredients I added a bit of honey. I would like to make this again, and next time I’ll add the correct ingredients. What I created was pretty good on a bed of lettuce and slice of pineapple.

This was fantastic chicken salad. The amount of grapes and water chestnuts gives this chicken salad a lot of personality. The flavors meld perfectly and it is sooo good by itself that you almost don't want to put it on bread. I had a hard time not overeating with this recipe! Thank you!

Very good! I used 2 strips center cut bacon (less fat), light mayo, and 1 small diced apple instead of water chestnuts didn't have on hand). I tossed the lemon juice in with the apple to keep it from browning and added a little more lemon juice to the mayo. Other than that, I followed the recipe as it was written. If you do Weight Watchers, a 1.3 oz serving (1 serving according to my calculations) made the way I made it is about 7 points. It would be even less points if you used fat free mayo.

I did not think this was great, but my husband and mom both said they liked it (I think they were trying to make me feel better). The bacon, water chestnuts and worchester sauce were too overpowering, and I had to keep adding mayo because it was too dry. Maybe I did something wrong - I might try it again, with some modifications. I'd really like to have a good chicken salad recipe!

Delicious! And, for the best chicken salad sandwiches ever - leave out the grapes and water chestnuts, then serve with lettuce on 12 grain bread. These are better than any restaurant!

We loved this! I don't usually mess with recipes the first time I make them, but I was caught off guard when I found out that I didn't have any celery. I was looking around for something crunchy to add instead, and and I settled on unsalted peanuts of all things! I ended up throwing some raisins in there too. Anyway, it was delicious, but I promise I'll make the original recipe next time. :-)))
