This recipe was just "okay" in my opinion. I don't like using the jarred spaghetti sauce, and the breading really wasn't thick enough. Also, I never put the breaded chicken swimming in the sauce when making chicken parmigiana. It's a really good way to turn your breaded chicken into soggy chicken. Instead, I just assemble it, and let the cheese melt on it's own. I will say one thing for it, it was quick and easy.

This is gonna be one of those it’s a good recipe when you completely change it reviews. I did originally follow the recipe and the chicken tasted like it had been in breaded in cardboard. It just was not appetizing. However there is a great breaded chicken recipe on this site, garlic chicken. Made this simple and easy and oh so TASTY. I got great reviews. Here is what I did. Took ¼ cup olive oil with 3 cloves garlic crushed and heated in microwave for 30 sec. Then coated the chicken in the oil and dipped in a mixture of ½ Italian seasoned bread crumbs and ½ parmesan cheese (double coat if u like thick breading). Cooked in oven at 325 for 20min (on a foil covered cookie sheet to make clean up easy). Set them in a casserole dish on top of about ½ a jar of spaghetti sauce for 3 chicken breast. Covered the breast with slices of mozzarella cheese and baked for another 20-25 minutes. Top with parmesan cheese. This turned out really really yummy and smells sooo good while it’s cooking.

My husband said the chiken needs to be juicier, but we liked it a lot! As others suggested, I added basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the bread crumbs. I was going to, but I forgot to add parmesan cheese in there... I added the second half of the sauce and the cheeses after 15 minutes of the second baking time. Will make this again!

So simple and so good. I used italian bread crumbs, double dipped, and lightly drizzled some sauce on top before cooking. Spooned in on before serving after cooking as other have said. I wanted the breading to stay somewhat crisp.

Very nice, although I spiced up my chicken, and dipped it in seasoned flour, then egg, and breadcrumbs mixed with parmesan. Very easy to make

People making this recipe may want to try this recipe with the following modifications: 1. Instead of using store bought "Italian Style" breadcrumbs, use the Panko breadcrumbs (normally found in the Asian section of your grocery store). then season the breadcrumbs to YOUR liking and preference. Or, grind your own bread in a food processor, then season it. 2. Dredge chicken breasts in flour, prior to the egg/breadcrumb mixture. You can use the whole wheat flour as an alternative. 3. Once chicken is coated with the breadcrumbs, deep fry them in shallow oil, then place in oven topped with cheeses. 4. Most important.. Make your own sauce. It's easy enough to do and will make all the difference in the world.

Easy to prepare and quick to make! My very picky husband even liked it! I did use the Italian bread crumbs and added some oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper as others suggested. I added some sauce and topped with mozarella the last 15 miutes it baked as well. Would definitely make again!

I thought the recipe was ok. It definitely needs more spices to taste really Italian...or to have any taste at all, really. I'd recommend garlic, oregano, maybe basil.

A fairly simple recipe. I think the egg & bread crumbs were more than necessary (though it's a bit difficult to cut back on one egg :-)). And I think a little less spaghetti sauce would be good. It was pretty good, but nothing really any better than other similar recipes.

This was a great recipe. I only gave it 4 stars due to the additional seasonings I had to add to spruce it up. I would suggest decreasing the cooking time just a bit (especially if you flatten your chicken). I followed someone else's sauce recipe and it was wonderful! Definitely a recipe to keep.

It was very very easy to make and I used a homemade sauce for mine and I also tossed my noodles in EVOO and some Italian seasoning and also some red pepper flake for a bit of bite...but it was even easy enough for my husband to make!

Very good. I cut the chicken breasts into fourths before breading, and served on top of garlic/buttered spaghetti noodles. Will make this again!

I've made this twice and its pretty good. I do season my chicken with a little seasoned salt and pepper and I also add some oregano and basil to the breading mixture.
