My family loved this soup....I did tweak it a bit, to suit out tastes. I upped the carrots and onion to 3/4 of a cup, and added 11 tsps. of boullion granules, a couple of extra dashes of pepper, and used two packages of broken up Ramen noodles in place of egg noodles ( a little of their seasoning too). There were no leftovers, and I have a family of 4!! A keeper!!

Pretty good. Quite thick and hearty soup. Only complaint is that it needs more flavor. I added more bouillon powder, seasoning salt and a touch of poulty seasoning.

This recipe is delicious and very easy to make. You can substitute left over turkey in place of the chicken for something different. This is a keeper and will be part of my recipe file for a long time. Thank you Sherry!

I chopped up raw chicken and it cooked nicely. Nice option for using leftover chicken too. I used low salt chicken broth since I didn't have the cubes. Good flavor with the spices. Have made this twice!

This recipe was pretty darn good--especially for my first attempt at making chicken noodle soup. However, I'm rating it a 3 because I think that there could have been a little more flavor, and because I like a lot more vegetables in soup, and I didn't think this called for nearly enough. I put more vegetables in than suggested (and added broccoli in addition to the celery and carrots) and I still thought there could have been more vegetables. But, it was really thick--and that was great. All in all, it was a great meal.

The best chicken noodle soup I have ever had! It was extremely easy to make, and I have never made a soup before. My wife and I love to have this Sunday afternoons now that its cold out. I save the rest for my lunch at work, it reheats extremely well! We think it goes great paired with a french baguette.

This recipe is great and very versatile. You can add anything and it will be perfect everytime. I used frozen mixed vegetables for variety. Easy, delicious and perfect for those cold nights...

I actually just made this last night, and my family loved it! I made it vegetarian pretty easily too, all that I did was cut out the chicken, added extra celery, pepper, and carrots, and I made the noodles from scratch-just for fun. I would suggest having a bit more water/vegetable stock if you like a lot of broth with your soup though.

We had this a couple weeks ago. Wow - it is delicious! I also upped the carrots and onion, used rotissery chicken and chicken broth. My 9 year old son didn't remember it until I showed him the picture of it on this site. The he said "Oh, yeah, that was awesome!"

This was a wonderful soup. However I didn't make it exactly as written. I didn't use chicken bouillon and water. Instead I made my own chicken broth using a cut up frying chicken. I used the Basic Chicken Stock recipe from this site. I also left the celery out. (My family are not fond of celery in soup.) I doubled the amount of carrots. I also cut the parsley down to 1 tsp. With these changes it was fantastic.

Very, very good. I also used the boiled chicken recipe on this site to prepare the chicken before hand and added a few cups of broth from that instead of all water. I think it added a lot of flavor to the soup.

Great recipe to start with. I always alter recipes to suit my family lifestyle or taste. I used one 2+lb. garlic rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. Doubled celery, onion, butter, and pepper. Used a full cup of carrots. Added a tsp. of fresh diced garlic. Used 12 cubes of bouillion instead of 9 since it tasted a little watery to me. With a picky husband who has been bugging me to make Chicken Noodle Soup and the fact that I don't really care for CNS that much, this turned out excellent for us! My husband even asked if I can freeze it for him to take on his hunting trips!

THE VERY BEST!!!! I've made this several times and it is always delicious. I made it last night for my parents and they couldn't stop raving. My mom is an awesome cook -- most everything is made from scratch -- and both my mom and dad said this was the BEST SOUP they've EVER had (they are in the 60s-70s). I think my dad ate four huge bowls and he asked for some to take home!!!! That is the highest compliment!! I make a few minor revisions -- I double the onion, butter, carrots, black pepper and bay leaf and add minced garlic. I also make the Boiled Chicken recipe from this site (using 4 lb. raw chicken) and use all of that chicken PLUS part of that broth instead of all water (probably 2-3 cups of the broth and 9-10 cups water). I also cook it alot longer -- a couple of hours -- before adding the noodles. I also use frozen noodles (Reames brand). These noodles are thick and hearty and really make for a delicious, homemade taste and presentation. Thanks Sherry for an awesome recipe!!! Now, I'm off to have a bowl for lunch. I'm glad I didn't give all of the leftovers to my dad to take home!!! ha ha

Very wonderfull! I did make some changes such as using chicken broth instead of cubes. I also used 2 cups of celery, 1 1/2 cups of carrots and added 1/2tsp of oregeno and 1/2 tsp of poultry seasoning, 1 full medium onion, also used rotisserie chicken and I think it makes a huge contribution to the soup. My brothers son absolutely loved it. He ate 3 bowls of it and he never eats that much of any food that we have ever seen. I will be making this often! Oh, I did increase the cooking time to roughly 2-2 1/2 hours.
