This is a great tasting soup. I made one change, however. Since I did not have any parsley, I added a tablespoon of dried basil. It really did give the soup a good flavor. Also 4 ounces of noodles is enough, to me at least. I will definitely make this again.

I thought this was a good recipe. Nothing particularly special, but still good. My daughter (4) loved it and asks for it often--she likes to dip bread in the juice while she eats it. I like to use a couple of rotisserie chickens from Walmart for my chicken. I just peel the breast meat off and cut it up.

OMG this is soooo good! I switched things up a little though. I took 15 cups of water, added 6 buillon cubes, half an onion, and pepper. Brought that to a boil, and once the chicken was done I removed it and let it cool. Then I skimmed all the "foam" off the top of the pots, added the celery, carrots, onion, and the spices. I did add 3 cloves of garlic though. It came out soo good!!! I had a cold when I made it, and it hit the spot! Thank you for sharing!!

Very decent recipe. Am not a fan of the powdered boullion, so I substituted about 10 cups of organic chicken broth for the cubes and water. As well, cut the celery in half as I am not too big of a fan and used herbes en provence instead of the marjoram. Definitely hits the spot for comfort food.

Thanks for the recipe! This one was a little "labor-intensive" for me (I'm a lazy cook) but it was still worth it since it makes so much soup. I tripled the veggies and it still wasn't enough for me, next time I will add even more. I also used the no-yolk egg noodles (12 oz) and thought it tasted great. Also, I only used 6 Knorr's Caldo de Pollo Bouillion cubes, and it was plenty salty for me. Thanks again for the recipe!

I did not like this at all. I found it way too salty. Maybe if I had used chicken broth instead of the bouillon cubes it would have been better.

I have made this a number of times and it is great, last night it was for my sick husband. I used 8 cups of swanson reduced sodium chicken broth with 4 cups of water. I also added a can of cream of chicken along with some minced garlic and a little oregano. At the end I used fresh chopped parsley and some sliced green onion. Served along with some bisquick biscuits and he was a happy camper!

So easy and so good! I added 4 cups of chicken stock on top of the 12 cups of water since I doubled the noodles. I also used a cup of carrots instead of 1/4 cup and a little garlic powder. Thanks to the gentleman who suggested the can of cream of chicken soup. It was the perfect addition. Husband and kids loved it! Bravo on this recipe!!!

What a great chicken noodle soup! I made this yesterday for my sick husband and 2 toddlers. They all loved it! I used the Boiled Chicken recipe from this site for the chicken and then used the stock for my broth. I added 2 minced garlic cloves when I sauteed the celery and onion, added an extra bay leaf. Thanks for a great soup!

My family absolutely loved this recipe! I ended up having to use broth stock instead of the water and bullion and did not have a bay leaf on hand... but this was so wonderfully wamr and definitely made us cozy on a cold night.

Simple to make as it gets! Great taste and worth the time it takes to simmer! Made this for my hubby and a separate time for my mom when they had the flu. My kids slurped it up, veggies and all! Beats the stuff you buy in the can!

This soup was SO delicious! It's worth the time to used the boiled chicken recipe on this site. I took the advice of others and cooked the soup for a little longer as well and used almost all chicken broth instead of water, this gives it such a hearty flavor. I also doubled the carrots and celery and I used linguine noodles because that's all I had on hand. I'm sure any noodles would work. Thank you for a delicious chicken noodle soup recipe that I will keep forever!

I made some changes, mostly of necessity. I did mine in a large crock pot for several hours. I didn't have any celery or bay leaf. The chicken was a left over roasted chicken from the night before. I added chopped chives and a sweet bell pepper along with some garlic. I may have altered the ratios a bit, too, as my batch is considerably larger. My first attempt at making chicken noodle soup and the family gave it great reviews. I'll be doing this again but since I like celery I'll be sure to have some here. Bill
