Well, I hardly followed the recipe at all, but it was GREAT! I took it to a potluck and had rave reviews! I added carrots, broccoli and mushrooms and used some cream of chicken soup and less of the broth. I also made it lowfat with skim milk and fat free soup and used whole wheat noodles. A crunchy topping like stove top or crackers adds some good crunch, too. I think it's one of those casseroles that you can adapt to the way you like it. I will definitely make it again and do more experimenting.

AWESOME RECIPE LORI! Thanks for submitting. I substituted 1 tsp. poultry seasoning and used shredded colby jack cheese, and black pepper because I didn't have savory, cheddar, or white pepper. Next time I will double the black pepper. I also used the cooked meat from a 3 lb. chicken that I had in the freezer. This may have been a little more chicken than the recipe called for. It filled my 9 x 13 pan to the brim, but did not boil over in the oven. Colorful, appetizing appearance, and TERRIFIC TASTE. This is big time comfort food. I will make it often.

I gave it a four as-is. My casserole-hating husband got seconds...I followed the other reviews and added extra seasoning with the chicken; I put in some frozen veggies, I used cream of chicken soup instead of chicken broth and doubled the recipe so I could have leftovers. I will make this again.

Felt this was a bit too slimey and thick. Plus there wasnt enough "chicken flavor".

I love this recipe! It's really great comfort food. I don't get my hands on a lot of cheddar here, but when I do it will definitely be for making this dish! Thanks!

I was pleasently suprised by this casserole since I do not like chicken noodle soup and I did not think it was a lot of work to make...I made this for a Sunday lunch when my mother-in-law came to visit and she loved it also, even my casserole hating partner ate it and went back for seconds. The only changes I made was instead of savory I used a bit of thyme and sage, and instead of egg noodles I used penne pasta, I added some red onion, and topped it with buttered cracker crumbs. This was the first time an entire casserole disappeared and I would/will make it again.

Great comfort food. We liked it because you could taste everything. It didn't get buried under too much sauce. Made this on a cold night for 5 family members. We had NO leftovers.

Easy to make and everyone (dh, 4yo ds, & 2yo dd) loved it. I used mozzarella cheese instead of cheddar, penne instead of wide egg noodles, and sage instead of savory b/c that's what I had. Hubby asked me to make it again and he usually vetoes anything with cheese in it. This is a keeper.

The family loved this! I didn't have any savory so I used a few pinches of parsley and a bit of thyme. I think it could have used a bit more of something, so next time I make it I will probably play around with the spices a bit. My hubby likes it as is, and the kids didn't complain. It does taste a lot like a chicken soup casserole. Very good!

I made this tonight for dinner and it was delicious! My husband and picky kids loved it. I didn't put any savory because Ididn't have it and I used a colby/jack shredded cheese because I had that instead of chedder. This will be one our regular meals from now on.
