This was a really great casserole! My true rating would be 4.5. After reading many of the other reviews I made the following changes: I doubled the cheese and did not use reduced fat. I could not find savory and did not use a substitution, but did double the white pepper. I used one bag of mixed veggies, but did not feel there were enough so I added a bag of broccoli. I also used half chicken breast and half thighs (baked the thighs beforehand). Only had whole milk so used that. My family loved this! How do I know how great it was? My 5 year old who hates cheese ate some of mine and then snuck into the dish and ate more. When I informed him that there was cheese in it, he said, "eew", but ate more!

This was good, but I've had much better chicken noodle casseroles. It was a bit dry. Not horrible, just average.

Everything came together so nicely in this dish. I followed most of the original recipe except I used a package of ground turkey, thyme instead of savory, and I took a handful of shredded cheddar, mixed it with a handful of crushed buttery crackers and sprinkled it on top before baking. This is a good recipe for your food processor (to shred the cheese, chop the onion and slice the carrots and celery).

I loved this recipe because it did not require canned soup and also my family LOVED it. DH and 14 Y/O son liked it so much they had 2nds and 3rds! I did make a few changes: I Stewed a whole chicken and used it and some of the stock. I sauted the onion and celery in butter then added the carrots and some of the stock and let simmer until tender. I made the sauce but added some of the broth and left out the cheese. I cooked the noodles in the leftover broth, drained (saved broth for later) then mixed everything together seasoned with thyme and added some sour cream to make it creamy. I topped it with dried bread crumbs and grated chedder cheese. Baked as directed. Will definately make again.

I was in the mood for the taste of chicken noodle soup, but not soup. This hit the spot! I used rigatoni pasta, since I didn't have egg noodles in my pantry. My 21 month old and 5 1/2 year old enjoyed it. I think the leftovers tasted better!

This was WONDERFUL!!! I followed this recipe to a T and it was SOOOOOO GOOOD!!!!! The only down side to it is that it took forever to make. So much to chop and get ready. I bet it took me at least an hour in the kitchen. Since it took so long I didnt let it sit after it came out of the oven and it was souper than I would have liked it. But as it cooled towards the end of dinner, it got alot thicker. So next time i make it, i was stir it and give it sometime at the end to cool and thicken. Very Yummy!!

This was a great recipe and very simple as well. Perfect for making after work during the week. The only change I made was using a bag of frozen mixed veggies since I didn't want to take the time cutting up fresh. My family loved it both my children (12 and 3) had seconds! thanks for the great recipe.

I thought this was a very nice alternative to chicken noodle soup. I could not find dried savory, so maybe this recipe deserves a five star rating with the savory. I used chicken seasoning in place of the savory, or use whatever you prefer in chicken soup. I would opt for Italian seasoning next time. I had cooked extra chicken the night before cooking this recipe, and cooked the noodles al dente. Added a bunch of veggies out of a bag of veggies intended for soup rather than what the recipe called for. It really didn't take much time at all to cook doing it this way. Looked like a soupy mess going into the oven, but it turned out fine. Actually, I should have covered it doing it this way. Mixed it and waited awhile before serving because the top noodles were a little dry since they weren't fully cooked already.

Good, homestyle type casserole, but a little on the bland side.

Crockpot variation: I put all the chopped veggies in the bottom of a crockpot, laid whole chicken breasts on top, whisked the flour and spices into some of the broth and poured that over top followed by the rest of the broth, milk and butter. I omitted the cheese and used soy milk and Earth Balance due to a milk allergy, but it was still really good. After about 5 hours on high, the chicken fell apart and I easily shredded it with a fork and knife right in the crockpot. I cooked the noodles and stirred them in right before serving.

This was really yummy, but it neede more veggies - maybe green beans or broccoli. The cheese taste is very mellow so if you are looking for something super cheesy, this ain't it. Definitely making it again.

Very good. It is a little bland, but my husband and kids tend to like that more than I, so it was a hit with them. Thanks for something different to do with chicken!

This was soooo yummy!!! I didn't have any savory on hand, so I use poultry seasoning and celery seed since that's what I use in my homemade chicken soup. I didn't change anything else. Thanks so much for a great comfort food recipe!!!

Wonderful. Left out celery (didnt have any) and cheese (we put it over mashed potatoes and didnt think it would mix well) but added corn with the carrots. We will for sure make this again!
