I did not care for the cheese and the Savory together. I tasted the sauce before adding the cheese, it was a nice cream sauce and the savory added a nice "something". So I am rating it on the sauce before adding the cheese. I will leave out the cheese or try a milder cheese like a mozzarella next time. The cream sauce before the cheese is lovely.

Yum! Like another reviewer, I whipped this up in the dutch oven to save dishes. It was a hit, no survivors.

I didn't have savory so simply omitted it all together. The recipe was still very tasty! My family cleaned their plates and leftovers didn't stay around. I absolutely love the fact that this casserole recipe didn't use any canned soup! I'm not a big fan of the taste repetition in casseroles when they are all basically made with the same canned soups...boring. Next time I make this I'll try the savory...and maybe some parseley as well!

This recipe was just ok for the amount of pans you use. Definately needs some tweaking.

This recipe was ok. It was interesting to try once, but since it only got so-so reviews from my family, I won't be making it again. The biggest drawback? Definitely the time. However, I agree with other reviewers that it was nice to find a recipe that didn't use condensed soup. I admit that I'm having difficulty giving a helpful review because overall it was just ok.

This was well received, though my 14 old said prefers the Campbell's cream of ...soup recipe. The leftovers were even better than the original dish.

Very, very good. I doubled it easily and gave half away for a family with small children and kept the rest for our family. Very yummy and not too time consuming.

Delicious! Family comfort food at it's best. I did omit the garlic, but that's just a preference (I don't care for garlic in chicken & noodle dishes). The only downside is...if you make as stated, it uses (3) pots and a baking dish, and more. Next time, I will do what "kiki_star" did (see her review below). We will probably make this one monthly! Great recipe, Lori Gleason! Thank you, for sharing.

I doubled the recipe and I seasoned (well) my chicken while cooking. When I added the broth, I decided to save a step and cook the noodles (I used macaroni) in the broth . This meant I had to keep adding extra broth (quite a bit - maybe five cups) as the macaroni expanded. I did add extra bouillon cubes for flavor and I used frozen vegetables. I poured everything into a small roasting pan (I made a lot of casserole) and topped it with crushed Ritz crackers mixed with parmesan cheese. My children thought it was amazing. For a comfort food type casserole, I thought it was really yummy and I will certainly make this again.

Delicious, warm, homestyle meal. I forgot the garlic and I'm actually glad I did because it was great without it.

This was outstanding. Living in France, it is very difficult to find condensed cream soups, so I was so pleased that this recipe didn't involve any. It was time consuming to make, so I will save this for a day off when I have time to make it. It was awesome!

Love it! Great for using up left over chicken. I've made this recipe 3 times, and have made the recipe exactly (with the exception of savory--I used a pinch of thyme and sage). I have also tried it with skim milk and spelt flour---doesn't turn out nearly as good as the original recipe. I use just one pot. I cook the veggies and chicken first. Dump them in the casserole dish. Cook the noodles. Dump them in casserole dish. Cook the sauce. Mix with other ingredients. It gets a 5 star as all five members of my family eat this. My picky 5 yr old, 4 yr old and 1 yr old, as well as my picky husband.

Delicious! It's so nice to have a casserole that doesn't require canned soup. I didn't have any savory so I added Italian seasoning as suggested in another review and also added 1/2 cup of peas and it turned out wonderful. I think next time I will also add some corn for more color.

This recipe turned out great! I made just a few changes. 1. I used 12 oz of extra wide noodles. 2. I used 2 cups of cheese (I didn't use low fat) within the recipe and about 1 cup to sprinkle on top. I also added a bit of bread crumbs on top. 3. I used black pepper, not white. 4. I ended up using a 9x13 casserole dish. The dish turned out delicious.I will definitely make again. There are quite a few ingredients to prepare, so next time I will not start at 8pm.lol We ended up eating a bit late.

This recipe was really good, but I did make some changes. First, I started with left over chicken from a rotisserie chicken the night before. Second, I added a handful of slivered almonds to give it some crunch. Third, I sprinkled seasoned bread crumbs over the top (my Sicilian mom in me). All in all it turned out well. I'm sure we will do it again.
