This was soooooooooooo delicious my boyfriend said it was one of the best things I have ever made him! Be careful not to scorch the milk cheese mixture (I wasnt watching very close and ended up having to make another batch) I will be making this very often! wonderful meal!

Great comfort food. Loved the fact that there is no "cream of" soup in it. Added a splash of white wine with the chicken broth and used fresh thyme instead of savory. We will make this again and again.

Simply perfect flavors, and a very forgiving, flexible recipe, to boot! Every single person with whom I've shared this recipe has gone on to make it a regular staple of their dinner repertoire. Substitutions abound, the most common among my friends being the lack of savory on their spice shelf. They substitute oregano and LOVE it. Another friend uses home-canned carrots rather than fresh to shave off a little prep time - but I wouldn't recommend using off-the-store-shelf canned carrots, because they're too mushy. Ditto on using canned chicken - the metallic flavors from the cans will ruin the down-home goodness of this dish. I have thrown a bunch of boneless, skinless chicken into a lidded pot in the oven and put it away for the next night so this dish - and others like it - could be thrown together for my family as fast as possible. It doesn't get any easier, more popular with all ages or more 'homestyle' delicious than this - give it a try!

Very good dish and it makes a lot! I left out the celery and used Italian seasoning in place of dried savory. I served it with sourdough rolls, which made a nice meal.

This recipe tastes pretty good, but for the amount of time it takes it's almost not worth it. I've only made it once as a result.

This came out very tasty and was no more work than making homemade spaghetti. I didn't have fresh onions so I added dried minced onions and dried minced garlic to the chicken. Then I covered the casserole with french fried onions before I put it in the oven. I also let the mixture boil longer on the stove before adding the noodles to thicken it up more. Also, it just made six servings instead of eight. Thanks for the good recipe.

This was really tasty! I would recommend three modifications- two of which are suggested by many other users: cook the noodles in the broth/ vegetable dish to save on pots to clean up and add more seasonings based on what you prefer. My husband didn't love the "bite" that came with the cheddar cheese (we used medium cheddar) so we will substitute with a "Mexican" blend in the future to add some more creaminess and cut out that biting flavor.

This tasted like a good chicken noodle soup in a casserole form. It tasted healthy but good! It was quite soupy at first so I put it in the refrigerator to eat the following night. It came out perfectly and my picky husband loved it!

Good, solid comfort food. Next time I make it, I will marinate the chicken for a little extra flavor. Worth the time and effort. For those worried about the dishes, I boiled the noodles first, drained them and set them aside, then made the chicken and veggie mixture in the same pot. That way I only used one big pot, one small saucepan, and the casserole dish.

This tasted all right; considering the amount of work it took to make, it should have been fantastic, but was only "meh." The same sort of flavor and comfort can be gained from chicken noodle soup, which is less fussy to make.

Good Minnesota Casserole. Just good home cooking. I have to say that I "appreciate" finally someone giving us what a serving is in a recipe. Now I know that I can have 1 cup for a serving for 343 calories. Usually it say 8 serving and 200 calories but how much is a serving. Thank you so much for this. Please, when you put on recipes, tell us what a serving is; 1/2 cup, 1 cup, 2 cups, etc. Thank you.

I wouldn't exactly call this 'quick'. Once everything is prepped, then yes. The cooking portion is easy, although messy because you have to use so many pans. The end result was well worth it, though. My 9 year-old ate two helpings! That never happens! I'll make it again, but I'll be better prepared. And, P.S., if you don't have Savory, use thyme. It's comparable.

Very good. I added a can of cream of chicken soup before I put it in the oven- just for extra creaminess.... (is that a word?) lol Next time I may add a can or corn. YUM

This casserole was sooooo good. I added uncooked noodles along with the veggies so they all cooked in the same pot - fewer dishes to wash! And I didn't have savory so I added a blend of pork seasoning. Mmm. My husband took one bite and decided it should be on the make again list.

I followed the recipe except for substituting the savory for Italian seasoning (like other reviewers) and white pepper for black. It was a little dry on top but the inside turned out good. Try and do the dishes as you finish with them - because there a lot of them. I liked it, my husband liked it; my 4 yr old & 16 month old didn't. I'll make it again for a large crowd.

Absolutely the best!! I used just one pot and a casserole dish. I cooked the veggies in teh butter and oil then added flour then added the liquids. I let it simmer for a little while to finish cooking the veggies. Then i added the chicken(it was precooked and shredded). After teh cheese was added i dumped it into the casserole dish, did a liitle rinse then cooked the noodles in teh same pot and added it to the casserole. Topped it with a little extra cheese. Will make all the time!! I also just used poulty seasining in place of the savory and i also added about 2 cups of frozen mixed veggies to it while it was simmering on the stove. My kids are tearing this up as i type!!

Only changes I made was to use thyme instead of savory (because I don't have savory). I did add raw broccoli and cauliflower to the casserole right before I put it in the oven. Very good recipe but a lot of clean up. Will make again.
