This turned out nice. I halved the recipe for just me and my husband. I also litened it by using fat free cream of mushroom soup (didn't need the second can due to reduced servings - might try the fat free cream of chicken next time for flavor change). I also used lite sour cream as well as 1/4 C Italian breadcrumbs instead of the buttery flavored crackers, and therefore only 2 Tbsp butter. I WOULD suggest diluting the soup with perhaps 1/4 C milk or even chicken broth as the mixture seemed a bit on the thick side and I would like it thinner by just a tad. Otherwise, excellent recipe which I will be making again as I keep all these things on hand!

this is my first review!! my mom would make this casserole without a recipe...just threw whatever she had in the dish! -i cooked a diced onion in some baconfat over low heat (to carmalize them). -i added some minced garlic, chopped mushrooms, and fresh spinach to the onions to sweat them a bit, and added it to my noodle/chicken mixture -i also used buttermilk instead of cream or skim milk (along w/ the soup and sour cream) this one will be a winner! :)

Awesome! Added a little sauted onion, crumbled bacon, brocolli and shredded cheddar. You can doctor this up with anything you please. Thx for the recipe. All the rave reviews really sold me.

The Perfect Comfort Food!! My husband even loved it! I followed the recipe exactly except I added about 1/3 a packet of Lipton Savory Herb and Garlic to the soup mixture - and 1 clove of garlic. This added a hint of flavor to the background of an already delicious dish. Next time, I would use 2 cups instead of 1 cup of the topping - only because I loved the flavor of it and would have liked to tasted it more. All in all this dish is wonderful and will be a repeat in my house - forever!!

Delicious! I substituted the cream of mushroom with plain cream and I poached the chicken in a half/half mixture of water and chicken broth and the chicken just exploded with flavor. This is really a great recipe!

Fantastic! Just made the following mods: added garlic powder/garlic salt to chicken; added zucchini, peas, and fresh mushroom to noodles, which I boiled in the chicken broth; cut butter in half and mixed with Italian bread crumbs since that was all I had. Served it with Italian bread. The meal turned out really yummy and I can't wait to have the leftovers!

This turned out great! I boiled the chicken in chicken broth then cooked the noodles in that same broth. I added peas, carrots, celery and onions to the mixture. This made a ton! Delicious!

This is so far the best chicken noodle casserole!! The only changes I made are: I boiled the chiken in chicken broth & also cooked the noodles in that same broth. I added diced celery and diced onions. I mixed a little more than a cup of the crushed butter crackers with the 1/2 cup butter and a cup of shredded cheese. Turned out delicious! Will definitely make again!

This recipe was so good and easy! I did make a couple small changes... I added a package of frozen mixed peas and carrots to the noodles while they cooked, and sprinkled some grated swiss cheese to the top before putting the cracker topping on. It turned out amazing!! My husband loves it as do I. Its even good cold. :)

This recipe was a big hit and definitely one that I'll make again. I made the following changes to make it a little healthier: I used yogurt instead of sour cream and also mixed in some cheddar cheese with the rest. I also put in a bag of cooked broccoli, and topped it all off with more cheese and bread crumbs. (I omitted the butter.)

Very delicious! I added peas because a noodle casserole isn't one unless it has peas in it. Will make again for sure!

This recipe is easy and as tasty as *you* want it to be. Meaning you can add whatever veggies you like. It's a great comfort food. I just added a little milk, not measuring, so it would be creamy and not dry or too runny. I also only baked it for 20 min which was sufficient. My husband however didn't like it but he's very picky to begin with.

I had to divide the recipe in 1/2, it would have been to much for just hubby and I so I used only one can of soup. This was very tasty and I will be making it again. Additions such as veggies and more seasonings will only enhance a very good basic recipe.

This was a very Yummy dish. I kept to the original ingredients but did use seasoned chicken breasts and tried to save on calores by using low fat soups and instead of butter for the crackers I used olive oil. I did add garlic powder to the soup mix and cracker crumbs. Will be making this again.

I made this yesterday and my husband could not stop raving about it. I omitted teh sour cream, and cracker topping. I sauteed chicken breast in EVOO and seasoned the entire dish with garlic pepper and onion powder and cayenne pepper. I put the whole thing in the oven and baked until it looked done and it came out pretty good. Thanks!

D-E-L-I-C-O-U-S!! Based on some prior reviews, I made some minor adjustments. Without these adjustments, it would still be great though! I cooked the chicken in chicken broth and added some garlic pepper/salt. Then I cooked the pasta in the broth when the chicken was done. I ended up spending the time to shred the chicken, which was GREAT! Time consuming, but worth it! I cooked a 1/2 package of mixed veggies in with the same broth from the pasta and chicken. I took one reviewer's advice, and used 1/3 c. of the Shake & Bake (Italian) crumbs, and 2/3 c. Ritz crackers, for the topping. DEFINITELY use the Shake & Bake!! Made the difference!! I put the Ritz crackers in a plastic baggie, and smushed them up, and used the side of the blade of a large butcher knife, to rub over the plastic bag. It turned out fabulous, and will definitely be making it again!!

this was really good. I added some grated swiss cheese that I had on hand to the casserole. I also tossed in some peas. I added leftover parmesan cheese to the topping as well as a little garlic powder and parsley. This was also good the next day.
