Overall I liked this recipe. Like other reviewrs, I thought it was lacking something, but realized that for the most part all of the flavors were right, juts not enough. I ended up doubling the ginger, garam marsala, cumin, lemon juice and garlic. Then it was delightfully flavorful.

We were not impressed with this recipe. It wasn't sweet enough and it just seemed like something was missing.

I love Chicken Makhani and this is a great recipe. I only made a few alterations and it tasted like an authentic Indian restaurant dish. Unfortunately I didn't have any cashews, but next time I make this, I will add those in too. I omitted the cornstarch, added a little dash of cinnamon, about 3/4 cup chicken broth and tossed freshed chopped cilantro on top after I plated the chicken over rice. My husband had 3 servings and kept saying, "mmm, this is really good"

We loved this more the second time I made it and I did ot have ginger nor the whole amount of cream. I used lemon pepper instead of lemon. I used a jarred tomato sauce for pasta which had some basil in it.....I don't think any of these changes comprimised the taste though. It was excellent.

A subtly flavored dish for beginning Indian palates. The flavors meld perfectly together. That being said, it just doesn't do it for me...but I can see how this dish would appeal to many people. Thanks for sharing with us.

Good recipe. I tried another recipe for butter chicken at this site, but I prefer this one. I used 1/4 cup of ground cashews and it was yummy. Served over rice and some chapatti bread (also from this site).

My family liked this recipe but we didn't 'love' it. I was hoping for restaurant quality as our local Indian restaurant just changed owners and is no longer very good :( I will make this again but it won't become a staple.

This was delicious. I used cashews instead of cornstarch, as other reviews suggested. I didn't find it spicy enough so next time I will adjust the spices to make it a bit spicier.

We really enjoyed this recipe. It tasted just like the butter chicken from our favourite Indian restaurant in Toronto. It just screams for a mango lassi. We served it with basmati rice.

As far as Indian food goes this recipe is my favorite. I look toward this recipe as one of my ultimate comfort foods. My husband wasn't as crazy about it because of the cinnamon and spice in the garam masala but I have come to crave it. Also, since it's just my husband and I, I freeze have the sauce when I make it.

My family and I really enjoyed this dish-even my picky 3 and 4 year olds. I did omit the cornstarch for ground cashews and found it not only served to thicken the sauce but added the perfect amount of sweetness (just a touch) I've made this a few times now and have tweaked the spices each time to adjust to my guests. Everyone has loved it!

This recipe is great however I do wish that the rice recipe was included. We used white basmati rice but my husband said that typically saffron and cardamom are added. That would have made this a perfect dish! We also made garlic naan to go with it. It was delicious!

I made this recipe with a few changes; added a little more butter (about 1 tbs), a little bit more yogurt (about 1 tbs), an extra splash of lemon juice, I used ground almonds instead of corn starch per the suggestion of other reviewers (I would have preferred cashews but didn't have them), I also added a pinch of brown sugar. I used less cumin than recommended and added some fresh coriander (cilantro). Before I added the ground almond and the coriander the sauce was good but definitely missing something. The addition of those two things greatly improved this recipe. The recipe is good overall and quite easy, considering the difficulty usually associated with Indian food!!

I loved this. However, I did change some things as I didn't have them on hand. I also didn't waste time measuring spices. Good Golly I used ALOT of spices. I added cinnamon, tumeric, corriander, as well as those recommended. I used sour cream instead of yogurt because that is what I had. I also used evaporated milk to thin the sauce instead of half and half. It was soooo good. I served it over rice. My very picky kid's also seemed impressed. Especially when I told them that it was a recipe from India. My 4 year old son said, "how did you get it here". Funny. I think that we have decided to have an international food night every week. Anyhow, this was excellent. Oh yeah, I also added raisins to mine. Just adds a touch of sweetness.
