LOVED THIS!! and so easy!! I was really bummed because my fresh market was out of basil...but I had some dried at home. Didnt expect a miracle with dried but followed recipe to a tea (except using thighs instead of breasts, boneless) and added 1 1/2 tsp of the dried basil. It was wonderful!! I bet with fresh basil it will knock my socks off!! Also mine made plenty of sauce.. I added some bread to the meal to mop up the yummy sauce. And the leftovers were great as well! Thanks for an easy, awesome recipe!! ****UPDATE 10/5/09***** I made this again, with fresh basil, but couldn't find pimentos this time, so i tried roasted red peppers. It was AWESOME! I made it for friends and they raved about it.. and it's so EASY! TRY THIS RECIPE!!

Very good and easy my sauce was a little thinner than I would have liked but that was probably something on my part. I used Italian bread crumbs and served with steamed broccoli it was delish

Greg recipe - few ingredients, easy but great taste. I cut the chicken up in bite size pieces and dipped them in the milk and bread crumbs. Meanwhile I cooked an entire box of Barilla bow tie pasta (Farfalle). I tripled the sauce recipe except for the basil and made a chicken/pasta dish that would feed a big crowd. My kids really liked it and so did my husband and I. I also used Italian bread crums because that is all I had. Thank you for sharing this great recipe.

My girlfriend LOVED it, her 6 year old was scared of the pimento. As for myself, I thought the cream was excellent and the chicken needed a longer cook time

Made this yesterday just as recipe stated. Chicken was good, but sauce was way to runny & not much flavor...needless to say, won't make it again.

I follwed the directions with the exception of the pimentos. The chicken came out great but the sauce was runny. I don't know where I went wronng? The taste was great just not the consistency. Next time I will incorporate the instructions for Chicken Cordon Bleu II, which I have made many many times, The consistency for this recipe is wonderful.

Loved it! We only used two chicken breast but made the sauce for four - perfect amount. I used italian bread crumbs and fresh basil from my garden. Very tasty! We will be sure to make this again. Thanks Emily for a great, quick recipe!

Really like this sauce, but it doesn't make enough ! There's barely enough for four breasts. Consider doubling the amount of sauce, especially if you're planning to serve this with pasta. I took others' advice, and used white wine (Riesling) instead of the chicken broth, and used 1/2 red pepper, thinly sliced, instead of the pimento pepper. Delicious !

This was a very big hit at my house and will definitely be made many more times. This first time, I followed directions exactly. I think next time I may try some variations. I would like to try with no pimentos for a more enhanced basil flavor, and I would like to cook the sauce with the basil in it a little bit longer as I didn't get quite as much basil flavor out of the dish as I would have preferred. The breaded chicken alone was so delicious in this dish. All around a new family favorite.

I expected my kids to say "ew we aren't eating that" but to my suprise they dug in and said it was soooo good and asked if they could have the left overs for lunch the next day! I thought it was ok. Nice for company but quick enough for a week night meal. If I make again I might try a blend of cheeses as others recommended.

Very Good! I made some changes based on other reviews - I used 1 tsp. freeze dried garlic soaked in 1/4 C. Chicken Broth and added white wine for the remainder of the broth. Didn't use pimentoes because I didn't have them and hubby isn't that fond of them. Used a parmesan/romano blend. We liked it and would make it again (with a few modifications) but we didn't feel it was "to die for" or that it rated 5 stars - I'm very picky about what gets 5 stars. A big reason for the 4 stars was I couldn't really taste the basil and I used fresh, home grown basil picked just before preparing. Don't know why it didn't give as much flavor as I expected.

Followed the recipe exactly and loved it! My husband said it was good, he's not much into white sauces. So, I think the next time, I'll try in on some of the breaded chicken patties you get at the store to save time.

Excellent!! This was better than you get at a fine restaurant!! I did make slight changes as per other reviewers suggestions, after the chicken was done and removed from the pan I added a bit of evoo and then sauted 3 cloves of chopped garlic, used white wine instead of chicken broth and used roasted peppers instead of pimentos. Also, grated my own parmesan. Using fresh basil definately makes a difference! This was a big hit...everyone loved it...even the picky ones! Thanks for such a great recipe!
