Made this recipe for a friend from Texas who was craving home cooking. It was an easy meal and got thumbs up all around. Will use this recipe whenever I make chicken fried steak.

This was really delicious. It was pretty expensive since I had to make more than two. I will make again. It took longer than expected to fry the steaks though.

Overall this was a yummy dinner, but I have yet to master the art of pan frying bredded things and have them come out nice and crunchy; the breading always goes soggy. I added some sausage to the gravy and added extra milk and a few shakes of freshly ground black pepper and the gravy was delicious.

I tried this recipe and it did not come out the way it was supposed to. I followed the directions on the recipe. But it did taste good.

I was disappointed in the breading. It wasn't nearly as thick or crunchy as I thought it would be. I won't cook this again.

The seasoned bread crumbs add a great flavor. I used a pre-packaged gravy.

Excellent Recipe. Meat came out crispy and tender. Gravy was creamy and flavorful. I followed the recipe exactly, except I used a bit more oil because my pan is exceptionally large. This one's a keeper!

I didn't eat this, but I'll review it based on my boyfriends raves about it. I made the recipe as written, the only thing that I changed was using black pepper instead of white (all I had) and adding garlic powder to the gravy while cooking. The steak was so easy to fry. I coated it and let it sit in the fridge for about an hour before cooking. The coating stayed on perfectly, it really looked amazing. I'm usually a disaster when it comes to frying anything, so this was a huge deal. The gravy was easy to make as well. "This is REALLY good chicken fried steak. I had no idea you could cook like this!" End quote. I will make this again and again. Thanks Judy!!

Meat turned out very tasty, not too sure about the gravy. I followed the recipe for the gravy but we didn't like it. I will make the meat again but will use a different gravy mix.

I've never made this before, and it was good, like others said the gravy is very bland, after adding a touch of butter and lots of salt, pepper, and garlic powder, it was yummy! I made biscuits, and they were so good dipped in the gravy!

For my first time cooking country fried steak, it was great. Easy to follow directions and the ingredients are fantastic. I did add just a bit of spice to it by using paprika in the flower mix.

It was pretty good. The recipe makes a lot of gravy. The gravy was kind of bland so I added some chicken bouillon.

Fabulous base recipe! This was a little bland for us, but the recipe is great and easy to modify to suit our personal tastes. I mixed the flour and the bread crumbs together. The next time I will add some garlic and lots of fresh ground black pepper. My family loves CFS and this meal made everyone happy. Thanks!

I've used this recipe numerous times. I don't personally like the gravy but I use McCormick's white gravy packet. The chicken fried steak is excellent!! My husband LOVES it! I'm going to make it for my mom tonight so lets see how she likes it.
