Not bad, although the mixture was too bland for me. Anyone can doctor it up and add their own twist/signature to it by adding their favorite spices. I sure will do so. All in all, great base recipe for fried chicken. Will make again.

My son the chicken expert said this was a definite keeper. I took the advice of others and added the garlic powder to it as well.

this fried chicken was fantastic!! Thank you for sharing your recipe. I used another reviewer suggestion by dredging in flour, egg and then the cracker mix. Awesome, this recipe is now a staple of our dinner routine!! My husband, and kids loved this!! Thanks again!!

My family loved it! Everyone went back for seconds...and thirds. I followed the advice of other reviewers and dredged the chicken in flour before the egg. It was perfect! I will definitely make it again soon.

This was fantastic! Dredged in flour before the egg and batter and added spices to personal preference. I love what the cracker and potato breading tastes like. Great texture! I'm saving this one.

So good! However, most of the credit isn't towards the recipe, though I did incorporate everything it called for. I added a LOT too it though because the breading was too bland, which is what made it so good. This simple recipe leaves a lot open to the chef so you can add anything you want. I added a lot of garlic, paprika, and a bit of chili powder. Wonderful. I fried a bunch of wings, tips discarded, and they were fantastic. As others have mentioned, flour the chicken before dipping in the egg mixture. Also, I ran out of egg and didn't want to crack another one for the last couple of wings, so I dredged them in honey mustard and it was AWESOME!

I grew up watching my grandmother get up at 5am on sundays to make the perfect fried chicken. I have tried and failed many times trying to recreate hers. I found this chicken as close as anything I have ever tried. It was so easy to follow, incredibly jucy and the crust stayed on perfectly, I used the flour-egg-mixture as suggested. Very Good, and no 5am wake up ! My grandmother would be so proud.

My boyfriend was a big fan. I didn't have any potato flakes, and I used multi-grain crackers instead of saltines, but the breading was still "sensational." He's requesting that I make it again later this week. It was a nice, simple recipe with ingredients I had in the pantry.

Great! Served with country gravy and mashed potatoes and it was a hit. Doubled the dry ingredients because of the large size chicken breasts I had.

This fricking awesome I use either boneless thighs or boneless breast and they are so moist. Another idea is take away the crackers and use chicken strips if possible cook in a deep fryer.

this is the first time ive ever made chicken fried chicken. it was amazing and easy. i did make the mistake of making the oil too hot and they were raw inside, but i just battered them again and cooked them more on a lower heat. it made them a little crunchy, which was really good. my husband loved them. :)

We loved it. I followed someone's review about flouring the chicken before the egg mixture. I also added garlic powder, pepper and salt to the flour mixture. My kids ate it up and it was delicious the next day cold. I will make this again very soon.

This was very good, I baked instead of frying as per other reviews, couldn't believe that it stayed so crunchy. Not the very best that I've had, but really good. May try frying it next time...

Scrumptious! I read this recipe off the top of my head last night after scamming the recipe yesterday. I did flour then egg then saltine mixture and I added lots of pepper, garlic salt, season all and even a tinge of parmesean & romano and topped it with some white pepper gravy...this will def be a staple from now on.

Thumbs up for this recipe! It's incredibly easy, don't have to buy the generic brands, use ingredients that was sitting in your pantry for many years (e.g. crackers), and it actually looks like fried chicken. If I may say so, it's even better than restaurants'. It also gets more kudos with how easy it is to customize in the seasoning department. If you want it salty but with a garlic taste, add more garlic to the flour-bread mixture. If you don't, then take away. It's very easy and, with just one trial, made it my ultimate default for fried chicken. Thank you for this amazing recipe!
