I agree this was missing something but I can't put my finger on it either. It was a little thin for me but that could be because I didn't add the masa harina because I don't like grittiness.

This was good, although not exactly what I was expecting. I thought the soup had a bit of a gritty texture, which was fine once I got used to it - but I was expecting a smoother soup. My biggest complaint was it lacked spice. If I make it again I would double the chili powder and add a few drops of hot sauce. I halved the recipe and added an 8oz can of corn and a 4oz can of green chiles, which I thought gave it a little extra "something". I will make this again but definitely crank up the heat! ** Update ** I tried to freeze this in individual portions and reheat - NOT GOOD. It got really thick and gritty. I don't plan on making this again.

I was a little disappointed in the way this soup turned out. It had a unique flavor, yet it seemed to be missing something. Also, the masa made it a bit gritty. It was okay as a dip for our tortilla chips, but I would probably not make this again as a soup.

added more garlic and a serrano pepper and used about a cup less water for a thicker soup. It was delicious, everyone loved it and it was so easy.

Great, EASY soup to make. My son (6) and husband both loved it. Added a little milk to son's bowl to "cool down" and take away a little spiciness. That said, I personally didn't think it overly spicy.

Yummy recipe...and Very easy!!! Mine turned out pretty thick, but not so bad as to turn me off.. This has a really good flavor, and tastes similar to Chili's..

since it was so thick, i used tortilla chips after i refrigerated it over night and used it as like a enchilada dip. so amazing i make it all the time :)

This is not a quick and easy recipe but ummm it is sooo good. My boys love it! I make big batches to share with others. Leftovers taste even better when it has been put in the refridgerator overnight.

I was really impressed with how easy and good this recipe was. I followed the recipe exactly, other than adding black beans and corn, and it turned out great. The kids loved it and asked to have it for lunch today. Was really good with fresh pico de gallo as a garnish.

My family loves this recipe! We fix it at least once a month. The only thing we do extra to it is add Ro-tel which just adds a bit more favor

Yum. I like it less thick and more spicy. So half the masa harina and double the chili powder and cumin. Also I made it with a homemade enchilada sauce by adding 2-3 tbsp chili powder, 1 8oz can tomato paste, 1-2 cups of water. Every one loved it!

This soup was good but seemed to be missing something, although I don't know what. It ended up being a little too thick, and not all that spicy. We picked the chicken out of the leftovers, wrapped it in tortillas and used the soup as sauce and ended up with enchiladas the next night. Actually it seemed better and more like a complete meal that way.

To make this a little heartier I added some canned corn, black beans, and green chilies. I make this quite often for about 20 people, but have to change the servings to about 30 because everyone goes back for more!!!

Excellent. Tasted just like the soup from Chili's. I usually do not like onions, so I blended them in my "magic bullet" and with the juices from the onions, the flavor was awesome. Great soup-quick and easy.
