I love this recipe. It is very easy and quick to make. I, like many others, use cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom. I use shredded cheddar cheese instead of swiss. I don't put in the celery, mushrooms, water chestnuts or almonds as I never have these on hand. The casserole is absolutely delicious!!

I made this for a ladies meeting and everyone loved it, and wanted the recipe. I made a few changes based on what I had and some of the other reviewers. I made a batch without mushrooms for my husband, and used cream of chicken with herbs instead of cream of mushroom. I think it would be hard to mess this up. thanks for a good recipe!!!

This was an excellent casserole. I did make a few changes that were delish. I used fresh onions and mushrooms and just cooked them with the celery. While they were cooking I added 1/4 cup of Sherry, 1 tbls chopped garlic and about 1 cup of frozen peas (thawed). I also used a 10oz can of Cresent rolls instead of 8oz.. Outstanding!

My sister surprised us tonight with this delicious casserole for dinner -- we loved it and think one could easily substitute the chicken with pork, beef, or even scallops and shrimp!

This is delicious! The crescent roll dough adds a sweet buttery twist to this casserole. This will be one of my top five recipes to make.

Very versatile recipe! I've made it twice now, using what vegetables I had on hand, and both times the outcome was delicious. The first time I added diced potatoes and corn(canned) and omitted the celery, since I didn't already have any. The second time I needed to use up some chicken that had been marinaded in jamaican jerk sauce and cooked on a charcoal grill. This really changed the whole flavor of the dish. I added peas for color, and some fresh sliced mushrooms. I also stirred the cheese into the mixture rather than leaving it to sit right under the "topping", which I think REALLY made a big difference. Both times, I've cut the mayo in half.

WOW!! What a hit at the luncheon with 24 people there!! This was yummy!! I did use Cream of Chicken soup and left out the mushrooms (not a mushroom fan) and several people asked me for the receipe. Even my husband loved the leftovers that night for dinner!

I made this last week and will be making it again tonight. I change the recipe according to what I have on hand. The versatility is great. I don't use celery or water chestnuts and change up the cream soup. Tonight I will add asparagus. Thanks for a great recipe my family loves.

This is very unique compared to the traditional chicken casserole. I did sub crm. of chicken for the crm. of mushroom. After everything was ready to go into the casserole dish, it appear there wasn't much to it. So I boiled some frozen green beans until the were tender and added them to the mixture. My husband I believed would have eaten the entire pan. This is definitely a keeper. I can't wait to try it again and maybe add peas and carrots!

This was quite good. I actually liked the taste better after it had cooled off a while, the crescent crust was very good. I used cheddar instead of swiss just for personal preference. My family loved it, thanks!

Sometimes I love making a meal in 1 pan. It just makes things easier. This is pretty good for a casserole. Everyone liked it, with no complaints. I chose to use cream of chicken soup, plain yogurt in place of the sour cream, & a blend of cheddar cheese to sprinkle on top. Thanks for sharing.

I thought this was a very good casserole. I tend to be stingy with 5 star ratings...I need to be really wowed to give 5 stars. But this was definitely something that I would make again. The sauce on the chicken mixes very nicely with the cheese and the crescents rolls...yummy!

I only thought this was ok. My kids - age 2 and 5 agreed. I substituted cream of mushroom for cream of mushroom/chicken, as it was all I had. I also substituted light sour cream for regular, and lastly I used Miracle Whip in place of mayonnaise. I'm not sure if it was the use of those substitutions or not, but this just didn't knock my socks off. There are definitely more interesting chicken casserole recipes out there.

This is a very delicious casserole, and I recommend it to anyone. I have baked a casserole similar to this, and next time I make Chicken Crescent Casserole I will modify a few things based on what I also like from the other similar recipes. Instead of cream of mushroom, I use cream of chicken, I will add in 3 hard-cooked eggs (chopped), 2 teaspoons lemon juice, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Also, instead of swiss cheese, I will use 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Enjoy :-)

I made this for a pot luck and it received rave reviews! I was hesitant at first because of it really had no additional seasoning but the combination of ingredients provided all the flavor it needed. It was rich and creamy, baked to a golden brown and looked as good as it tasted! I did substitute fat free sour cream and plan to experiment with more low fat ingredients the next time.
