I have made this a number of times and my husband actually requests this as he really likes it. I do, however, put the stewed tomatoes in a food processor and chop them up completely as we are not big tomato fans in our house! This is actually one of the few recipes on this site that I actuallymake time and time again and have put into my "rotation" so to speak.

Pretty good... Hubby said tasted like ketchup, but I thought more like Manwich with chicken breast over rice, instead of with beef on a bun. Always loved Manwich, so that's a good thing! haha We both liked it enough to make it again. It would indeed be better with some onions and green pepper added, IMHO, and will do that next time.

I made this according to the recipe; the only change I made was to add an extra can of diced tomatos (since some reviews mentioned it could use more sauce). I'll definitely be making this again!

I love this dish! I serve it over quick and easy Uncle Ben's 90 second rice & orzo. Yum!

This was different and good. Normally silent hubby said, "I like the flavor." He's stingy with the stars though, giving it a 3.5 (no recipe EVER gets a 5). I thought it was very good, especially for a different way to have chicken breasts. I did substitute chicken broth for the water and omitted the salt. I also used petite diced tomatoes, as I had no stewed tomatoes on hand. I halved the butter and instead used non-stick spray to coat the pan. This worked out just fine for browning the breasts. Lastly, about halfway through cooking, I felt the sauce was too thin so I added a half a can of tomato sauce (about 7.5 oz).

For braised chicken in barbecue sauce, this is quite tasty - but that's exactly what it is. Braised chicken in barbecue sauce. Still, braising the chicken makes it nice and tender, so that part was worth it. I added onions after frying the chicken but before adding the tomatoes (which I would do again) and served it over pasta (which I wouldn't - the sauce isn't really strong enough to hold up to pasta - try rice instead). Not sure I'll make this one again, but it has the benefit of being made from things that are usually hanging around anyway, so I might.

This is really good! I like it just the way it is. Well almost, I skip the hot sauce and double the recipe for more sauce. A little spicey, a little sweet, a little tangy...yum! Great over rice or served with mashed potatos. Or spoon it over a baked potato for a less fatty version. Thanks for sharing!

instead of adding hot sauce I added diced tomato with jalepeno for an extra kick and served over whole wheat noodles. It definatly was a whole lot spicier than I thought it was going to be, but it was sooo good! and the extra sauce was great on the noodles.

Not bad but not great either. It was tastey and easy to make. Only used 1 pan which is a bonus. I served with rice, but I think I would like it better with egg noodles. Not sure I would make it again. It just wasn't my thing. Thanks for sharing.

Yummy! My husband and I are dieting so I did a lower fat version--no breading, just seasoned the chicken breasts and sauted in a little olive oil and butter. I also used petite diced tomatoes, substituted chicken broth for water, used spenda instead of brown sugar and added thinly sliced red onions and pepper strips (frozen). Served over brown rice it was delicious and a very healthy, well balanced meal!

My husband and I loved this recipe. I substituted 2 cans of petite diced tomatoes with liquid, didn't add the water and used, based on other reviews, 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar. The flavor was awesome. I served it over wild rice as that is the rice my husband really likes.
