What a great recipe! It is easy, and tastes fantastic! The only changes I made, were cutting up the chicken into cubed before tossing it in the flour mixture, used crushed tomatoes, and I used 1/2 Chipotle chili powder and 1/2 regular chili powder. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly as written. I will be making this again, and again, and again.... Served it over basmati rice. Thanks Nancy for the delicious recipe!!

i also added onion, used diced tomatoes, omitted the hot sauce and was forced to use garlic powder and whole wheat flour ... and this was still delicious. the whole family enjoyed it, and i'm sure i'll make it again.

I sauteed half of a large yellow onion (sliced) after the chicken and used petite diced tomatoes and red wine instead of water. Very good.

I used red wine in place of water, Splenda in place of the brown sugar and canned tomatoes with hot peppers so I didn't add the hot sauce. I did not add the vinegar or celery powder because I didn't have any. The recipe was a great hit. I think the sauce would be good with a wide variety of meat. Thank you, its a keeper!

I thought this was really yummy! I actually varied the recipe a bit. Instead of using whole chicken breasts, I cut them up into bite sized pieces and sauteed them this way. Per a previous suggestion, I used chicken broth instead of water, and used balsamic vinegar instead of white vinegar. I also threw in a dash or two of Cumin for an additional flavor. I also used plain canned diced tomatoes instead of stewed tomatoes. Served over a bed of pasta. Came out wonderful! Will definitely make this again.

This was different and good. Normally silent hubby said, "I like the flavor." He's stingy with the stars though, giving it a 3.5 (no recipe EVER gets a 5). I thought it was very good, especially for a different way to have chicken breasts. I did substitute chicken broth for the water and omitted the salt. I also used petite diced tomatoes, as I had no stewed tomatoes on hand. I halved the butter and instead used non-stick spray to coat the pan. This worked out just fine for browning the breasts. Lastly, about halfway through cooking, I felt the sauce was too thin so I added a half a can of tomato sauce (about 7.5 oz). I made this again last night, the same way as before except this time I added onion and red pepper. I sauteed them in the butter before browning the breasts. Very delicious.

This was delicious. I followed directions for the most part. The only changes I made was that I added 2 large fresh tomatoes and this made a HUGE difference in taste. I also added regular balsamic vinegar along with some white vinegar. I added some cayenne pepper and green onions too. IT came out very rich , and very tomatoey which I loved! Definitely a keeper and very easy to make!

Delicious!! It had such a wonderful and unexpected flavor. I was very liberal with the hot sauce, but think it would have been just as tasty at a lower level of heat.

This was "OK." I made half the recipe for my bf and I this past Saturday. My friend made this for me a while ago, and I thought it was good. I kept in my recipe box so that I could make it myself sometime. Either my memory of this dish is inaccurate or my tastes have changed because I didn't care for this very much at all (and neither did my bf).... I followed Nancy's directions to a T, except for halving the recipe, keeping the sauce proportions for 6 servings and subbing Italian stewed tomatoes for plain ones. At the last minute, I noticed that I only had two chicken breasts, but everything else was to scale. I followed Shoangore's suggestion to serve each breast over spaghetti with a lemon slice and fresh parsley sprig for garnish. I steamed some fresh asparagus to serve on the side. French bread completed the meal (we dunked slices in the remaining sauce). This was satisfying, but not something that I'd make again (the bf agrees). My bf thinks this is similar to braised balsamic chicken by MOONANDBACK, but I disagree - that recipe is much better!!! Thanks anyways!

This was one of the best chicken recipes I have tried in a long time. I did follow a couple suggestions from reviewers. I did use chicken broth instead of water and I also very quickly sauted some red onion in the pan before cooking the sauce. Just long enough for them to soften a little. Next time I make this I will also double the recipe for the sauce. I served it over rice and my husband and I like extra sauce when eating rice. If I made this for company, I think I might even triple the recipe. Thank you for posting this! This was very delicious!

Oh My Goodness. This recipe was absolutely amazing. I actually only used one chicken breast half, and it was perfect like that. Bothy my bf and I had seconds, and finished up the whole batch. I will definitely make this again. Thank you so much for the amazing recipe!!! YUM.
