Corn Chex® cereal
Rice Chex® cereal
1/2 (14 ounce) bag
butter or margarine
semisweet chocolate chips
Though the outcome was kind of cool looking, it really wasn't anything to write home about. I think we would have liked it had it had double the chocolate drizzle and maybe some nuts.
I made these for my twins preschool snack day, and it was a big hit. Very easy to make. I also added some chocolate cheerio's and pepridge farm Pretzel fish Making again today for a family snack.
It was ok, but not great. If I try it again I'll defiantly put pretzles in it at least.
I'm probably in the minority here but I HATE the microwave method of cooking this stuff. The caramel was never very fluid, stirring it was a nightmare, and much of the cereal was broken by the time I finished. My friends thought it was good but mentioned that it hurt their teeth to eat it. Not the reaction I was going for. I think I'll stick to making caramel corn. :o(
I didn't like using the microwave for making any Chex mix. It all was stuck together. I think I will add different things the next time besides just cereal. It is worth another few tries.
