These are going on my permanent holiday baking list. I've been looking for an alternative to pecan pie. My husband used to love pecan pie, but we are now cutting back on sugar and the pie is way too sweet for our tastes. He can't seem to get enough of these bars. They are FABULOUS! I've made these bars twice this season. The first time I made them exactly as the recipe called for. They were a hit with the family. The next time I tweaked the recipe a bit and served them at my Christmas party. 5 out of 6 women present asked for the recipe. (The 6th doesn't bake.) My changes amounted to adding the melted butter into the wet ingredients rather than pouring it over the bottom of the pan. I sprayed the pan instead with cooking spray. I also used 3 cups of chopped pecans rather than 2. Significant difference in texture and taste. I also waited until the bars cooled completely to add the powdered sugar so it kept its powdery, white texture. They also freeze well. I highly recommend this recipe. It's not one you see everyday.

Made these for christmas and they vanished quickly. Very moist and chewy. Will make again.

This was definitely yummy, but I guess it wasn't all that I wanted it to be. The flavor was great even though the bars weren't pretty! Pecan flavor was fab, but I don't know that I'd make them again.

These were delicious! I must say they didn't look like I had expected and when I pulled them out of the oven I was rather disappointed... but one bite and that disappointment was gone! YUM! I'm actually making these again today to bring to Thanksgiving dinner!

These were not that great. I followed the recipe exactly. They were greasy on the bottom and did not have much flavor. I took them to a family reunion and I still had half a pan left. I will not be making these again.

Very good. Make sure you use the powdered sugar because bars are not very sweet without it.

This recipe is delicious, the whole family enjoyed and wanted me to make more! I won't mind making this often because it is so easy and quick. The only thing I noticed is I only had to bake for half the time (15min.), it could be that my oven is fast. I plan to make this for Holiday dinners in the future.

I have been looking for a recipe to replce the one that my mom made when I was a child and this one is very very close. My boyfriend raved about them and asked "are these from scratch", can you make some more, LOTS of compliments at work.
