I made this as both Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and regular Chocolate chip by swapping the peanut butter for shortening. Everyone at my office wants the recipe and said they were the best they have had. Great flavor and chewiness.

Not sure what everyone else is seeing... 2 1/2 cups of flour is way too much. 2 cups would have been much nicer.

Great recipe. They were chewy and very hearty cookies. Great for milk dipping. I added walnuts and extra peanut butter. I used an ice cream scoop (1/2 filled) to gauge the size. It made so many cookies and they all looked uniform. Yum yum!!

My husband's in the army and I send treats with him to work for the rest of the guys every now and then. This is, by far, the most requested recipe from them. I make them exactly as it states and they turn out perfectly every time. Yum!

I always make this recipe now instead of just "regular" chocolate chip cookies.

I made an account just to post this comment. This is a terrible recipe if you're in the mood for "peanut butter cookies". I made the first batch exactly as the recipe called for and was very disappointed. So I read some reviews (should have done that first) and made some changes. I lowered the temp to 325 and extended the cook time to 18 mins. They tasted a little closer to what I was looking for but still not the good. This is the first recipe I tried from this site that I didn't like.

Truly the BEST peanut butter cookie ever. I am not a peanut butter cookie fan. Usually too crunchy and too much peanut butter. However, this cookie is just right. Soft, chewy, and just the right amount of peanut flavor.

These are pretty good, they almost remind me of pumpkin cookies, not in taste but they way they looked when cooked. YUM!

I just made these the other day- hubby loved them, I hated them. I made them exactly as called for, and they were NOT chewy or sweet! The title of these should include the words "dense and cakey". If you are like me and prefer the taste of a sweet, sugary flake to your cookies- skip this recipe.

These turned out cake like and really NOT what I was looking for. I made a few adjustments so that was part of the problem. I reduced the sugar to half and used all natural peanut butter so it was way too much flour. I added a bit of milk to thin it out, but it turned out disastrous!

These are pretty good... not super great, but pretty good. I followed the ingredients and instructions to the tee, and they are definitely "cakey" cookies, and we could barely taste the peanut butter.

Very YUMMY!! I did like some others said and doubled the peanut butter to 1 cup. I also used honey instead of corn syrup. Only other thing I would do different next time is cut amount of chips to 1 1/2 cups instead of 2. My family LOVED this recipe!! It's definitely a keeper!

I thought these were great! The only change I made (as suggested by other reviewers) was add a little extra peanut butter. Thanks!

You don't need to 'know how' to write a review in order to tell people your thoughts on how a recipe tasted to you, or how it turned out for you. I will agree, these cookies have a very subtle peanut butter taste, but I and many others (a truckload of children included!) have never found them bitter; always soft, chewy and delicious! In my opinion, this recipe is perfect the way it is unless you do want a stronger peanut butter flavor, and in this case you can just substitute some of the butter for more peanut butter. This recipe is a very standard drop cookie format, and with some attention to detail and practice, the cookies should always turn out amazing!

very good cookies. yes they spread a lot for me! and they cook really quickly. i cut a little sugar and added a little more peanut butter (reduced fat kind) and it came out great. you can savor all the chocolate and pb without them being too sweet...!

This is a great recipe, however not enough peanut butter taste for me. After some experimentation, I have changed the Peanut Butter measurement to 1 cup. I have not changed any other ingridents. Turns out chewy and great.

Perfect fluffy texture! Not as much peanut butter flavor as I would like. Next time I'll add an extra 1/4 cup peanut butter.
