This recipe is great, I make these all the time and individually wrap them and store them in the freezer, then just pull them out for lunches as needed, by the time the lunch hour hits they are thawed and ready to eat.

i don't know if i did anything wrong with this recipe, but i'm pretty sure i followed everything to the letter and the bars were barely edible when they were finished. was so turned off i threw away the recipe i printed. will not try again. maybe i'm just not cut out to make granola bars. i'd rather buy a box.

This recipe needs to take the "chewy" part out of the title. It taste good but it's not chewy, it's very hard and more like tuff granola bar. Great if you are looking for a hard type of granola bar.

These turned out really great! I did make some changes to the recipe though. I used 3 cups of oats, 1 1/2 cups rice krispies, and whole wheat flour in place of white. I did 1/2 cup butter and 2 tbs. coconut oil. I kept the honey but used 1/3 cup of pure maple syrup insead of the brown sugar. I used 1 cup coconut and 1 cup raisins instead of the chocolate. They were really good and the kids loved them. I will make again!

These came out ok. I was not impressed, neither was my husband. I plan on trying a different recipe next time. Feels like it was missing some zing, can't quite put my finger on it.

I started making these during my sons swim season because he was eating so many of the store bought ones and I thought these would be less expensive and more filling. BOY WAS I RIGHT!!! I now make them for him and the swim team and for meets and lots and lots of moms are asking for the recipe. So thanks this is a GREAT snack for hungry swimmers and during swim season they are always hungry. They have given them a name: YUM-YUMS!

This recipe is great. You can also substitute almond or peanut butter for some of the butter. I recommend adding coconut. They taste like a dessert bar. Use non-hydrogenated margarine and no honey and these will be vegan. Yummy!

These were okay, and the kids didn't like them. My husband and I ended up eating the last of them crushed over yogurt, and that was pretty good. Overall, not one of my fav's though.

very good, but this recipe needs an egg, or something else like a banana to hold it together better. I added some walnuts, choco chips and rasins and followed the 2 cup max rule and it just does not want to stay in nice bars, which is not good for kids, too messy! I am going to try this again but I will add an egg or two in hopes that it helps keep it all together for little fingers.

My family loves this recipe and we make it often. I do have a problem with the bars crumbling, but do not know what I am doing wrong. They are still good no matter what. I would like to know how to keep them from crumbling. thanks

AMAZING!!!! Put them in the fridge until hard right after baking so they will be easy to cut into individual bars. PERFECT!!! I gave this recipe to ALL of my friends and family!!! FANTASTIC!!!

This recipe is very tasty. I modified it slightly and it still needs a bit more work but I am still giving it 4 stars based on taste. I used 3 cup oats and 1.5 cup rice krispies. Also cut brown sugar back to 2 TBSP, cut the choco chips back to 1 cup and used 1/2 cup raisins, also used the called for amount of butter. It definitely DOES need more butter, mine turned out crumbly but I will still eat them. Next time I will add the full cup of butter as mentioned by previous posters and hopefully the texture will be better. Thanks for a tasty recipe! Edited: I made it a second time with 1 cup margarine, melted, and the consistency came out MUCH better!

If there ever was an ideal recipe to use my Pampered Chef measure all cup, this is it. It's the best tool for measuring the sticky ingredients(I also add PB) as well as the dry. I only have to wash one cup rather than several.

I thought they were excellent and really tasted like a granola bar. Mine were a bit crumbly but I thought that might be due to the chocolate chips; I used full-size chips instead of the mini chips. I may try some of the recommendations of other reviewers but I'm definitely going to make this recipe again!

Very good - better than the boxed kind because these actually fill you up!! Halved the butter and used natural peanut butter. Used less flour and added 1/4 cup wheat germ. Half white and half wheat flour.
