Very good and easy. I was looking for a healthy homemade snack for the kids and was happy that I had every ingredient on hand. Came out great and everyone loved them. We cut them smaller as they are rich and filling. Will make again and again with more variations. Thanks!!

These are sooooo good. I added 3/4 c. of honey. The first time I made these, I just used the 7 T. butter recommended by another reviewer. The second time I made these (the same day...they were so yummy!) I melted the 7 T. butter. This did seem to make the bars more firm. They were still fragile but if you follow the directions about when to cut them and how to cool them, they are fairly easy to handle. I wrapped them carefully and froze them. I made them for a road trip we have coming up but at this rate, none will be left. They are good frozen or thawed. They are firmer thawed than they were after baking.

Yummy!!! Kids love these and they don't even realise I used whole wheat flour. Great recipe that does not use peanut butter (allergy). I used 1 cup choc chips and 1 cup marshmallows, very tasty. Loved the oatmeal consistancy, i.e. not cake like. I cut them after they had been out of the oven for approx 10 min., if not careful when taking out of the pan they broke in half. Next time, and there will be a next time, I will line pan with parch. paper.

Great flavor. I added dark chocolate and dried cherries. But too crumbly. I couldn't cut into bars and even still they fell apart.

Excellent texture and is definitely chewy, but as others stated a little bland. Not sure how to fix it, maybe a 1/2 teaspoon of salt to counteract the sweetness and give it more interest. We added some chocolate cocoa powder and the kids loved it! Very good recipe, with the changes. I will most certainly make it again.

These were fantastic! I substituted dark corn syrup for the honey, and they worked out great! I cut them in strips, wrapped them, stuck them in a zip-lock and threw them in the freezer. Kids love em as do the big kids. Oh, I also added craisins and chopped up choc easter bunny. Perfect.

These are pretty good but the lack on flavor. I think they need a little more butter also, but not much more. There is also alot of sugar in these. I'll have to play with this recipe

I have to be fair...this is the best granola I have ever had. True, it is a bit crumbly, but I add extra honey to ensure it sticks together sufficiently. I made it once, and then the next day found myself making more. THE WHOLE 9X13 PAN WAS GONE IN ONE DAY!!! Rave reviews from my other guinuea pigs as well. Great present.

these are great! i made mine healthier by limiting the butter to 1/2 cup and compensated by adding in 1 jar of baby food bananas. i also omitted the chocolate chips and instead used craisins and raisins. halfway through the bake time, i removed the pan from the oven and pressed the mixture firmly into the pan again. this helped to prevent them from crumbling. yummy!

Okay, I have tried a ton of granola bar recipes lately. And like the many other recipes I have tried this one fell apart and crumbled too much. However, the taste was good and I think with a little tweaking it may have a lot of potential. It may not be the healthiest bar recipe but at least we will probably eat all of these where as the others I have tried just went to the trash can. If I try it again I will mix the wet ingedients in a sauce pan and then add it too the oat mixture just to combine the ingredients better. The softened butter just didn't incorporate well with the oats as written. I will also consider adding more honey or maybe an egg white to hold it together better.

I currently live in Tanzania, Africa and you cannot get granola bars so this recipe is fantastic! All the ingredients are readily available and they are so easy to make. My 2-year-old loves them! I found that 2 cups of raisins was WAY TOO MUCH! I only use one half cup and it is perfect.

I've made these twice now and they've come out well each time. I played around with many of the suggestions people made (adding a bit more honey and butter, using some wheat germ, using oats...) I used all whole wheat pastry flour and oats. The biggest trick seems to be really PUSHING the suckers into the pan. They came out pretty solid. A bit fragile when first cut but since I store them in the freezer once cut they keep great and frankly taste good right out of the freezer. So far they are a hit in lunches too. Yay! Just don't tell my kids they have wheat germ and other "healthy stuff" in them. :-)

This is absolutely awesome!! I always have to have it available to eat!! The first time I made these, they came out crumbly and was the only one that ate them. The second time, i didn't know how much 2/3c was, so used 7Tbsp of butter and melted it. They come out perfect every time and everyone loves them!! MELT THE BUTTER. So thank you very much!!

This recipe made more than what I thought was good for a 9 x 13 pan, they were too fat for my liking but my husband ate 4 in the 1st 2 minutes of having found them, then asked for 2 more right after. He loves them. I will be making these often, but when making them for me I will try a 9x13 and a 8x8 I think. I put chocolate chips on one side and sunflower kernels and raisins on the other. My 4 year liked them too, thank you :)
