These cookies call for way too much salt! I was not very impressed. I left out the nuts and used dark chocolate chips. Honestly, I would not use this recipe again.

I followed the modifications to use 1/2 more cup of flour and cut the salt back to 1/2 tsp. I also added 1 cup of toffee bits. They were a hit at the party and office.

I used 2 c. chocolate chips instead of any walnuts. I baked them longer than 12 minutes since they seemed gooey when I checked them, but maybe I should have pulled them out at 12 because they seemed dry to me a day or 2 later.

This recipe was great! I took the suggestions from the other users. And I use 1/2 cup of butter and 1/2 cup of shortening. They turned out chewy and soft. Next time I will use some cinnamon.

These were great cookies. I added 1tsp cinnamon and didn't put any nuts in. I will definitely be making these again! Edit: I made these cookies again adding 1tsp of cinnamon AND the nuts. Fantastic again!

I liked this cookie. I read and tried other bakers suggestions. I added the extra 1/4 C. of flour and decreased the salt by half. Probably could have cut even more of it out. I also added another 1/4 C. of chocolate chips. They baked up nice and tall and had a nice balance of crispy edges and chewy center. I would make this cookie again.

These were pretty good. I wasn't crazy for them and this recipe won't be something I make again. I'm more of a fan of the crisp cookie, and this was too soft for me. But the name does says CHEWY, so I should have known!

I made these last night and they taste great warm out of the oven (I like mine this way.). The only problem is that the dough was very dry is that suppose to happen. I read other reveiws and tried not to over mix the batter and added 1/2 cup more flour. The cookie was great the next morning but a little dry and crunchy. But I will make this cookie again and try not to over mix it again. Thanks for the recipe!Update*** I figured out that I was making the cookies too small and they tended to be dry but since making them bigger they taste awesome. I glad I didn't give up on this recipe.

Super delicious. Soft and chewy, and so good! We omitted the walnuts and added a cup of coconut, it was wonderful!

These were really fantastic cookies. I too added the extra 1/2 cup flour, but other than that, I stuck with the original recipe. They made the perfect snack to tote to work and to the gym.

Absolutely addictive even without the walnuts! After reading some reviews, I decided to omit the salt. To make them easier to handle, I refrigerated the dough for 2 hours and then rolled it into walnut sized balls and squashed slightly, I baked them for 15 min at 150C. Perfect! Next time I may add some cinnamon...

These are amazing!! I took some of the suggestions in other reviews, and changed the amount of flour to 1 3/4 cups, and I decreased the amount of oats to 2 1/2 cups. I also used chocolate chunks instead of chocolate chips. I also baked them for 16 minutes instead of 12 because they needed a bit longer in the oven. Great recipe! My husband loves this recipe!

WOW! Every person that has tried these cookies has told me that these are AWESOME! These cookies are honestly the BEST cookies you could ever have. My dad absolutely loves these cookies. Thank you So much for this recipe. Will definetly make again Suggestion: You NEED to cut the salt in half or more because these are very salty. Also, be careful NOT to overbake these or they really don't taste good. Other than that, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

VERY VERY VERY good! I used unsalted butter, increased flour by another 1/2 cup, and increased baking soda an additional 1/2 teaspoon, based on reviews. Omitted nuts, but will add next time for one rockin' good cookie! If you don't add nuts, try adding **just a few** more choc chips to avoid some "blank" bites. Definitely use semi-sweet because it's a sweet-tasting cookie overall. Due to some comments on spreading, I put the dough in the fridge between batches... even though spreading wasn't an issue on the first batch. After great success with this oatmeal version, I don't think I'll make the regular choc chip cookie ever again - oatmeal really makes a satisfying cookie! This is my new cookie standard! THANKS!
