These cookies are absolutely delicious. I used chocolate pudding and substituted dried cherries instead of walnuts. They are definitely chewy. They will make a terrific addition to the holiday dessert platters that I give to friends!

Amazing! I have made this recipe twice, once as one GIANT cookie and once as individual cookies. Both versions came out wonderful! The only change I made was using sugar free instant pudding, 1 oz. instead of 3.5.

Wonderful recipe! Although I have been baking for years, this is the first recipe off of allrecipes.com that I have tried and I am very impressed! These cookies were great! Easy to make and delicious tasting! My husband and little girl loved them. We used the chocolate pudding in the recipe. I will definitely add them to the rotation!!! Thank you!

I have made these cookies several times with different pudding mixes, sometimes more than 3.4 oz and they always turn out great and I have only gotten compliments on how wonderful they are. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

I have made these cookies several times for my husband's gas field crew. They beg me to send them if it's been too long. Melt the butter, and they will be extra chewy. I have also used different flavors pudding/chips for variety.

These cookies get really puffy in the oven, so I pat them down to make them look prettier. Also, I use sugar free pudding to make myself think they're healthier. I've never gotten a bad review when baking them for my friends!

I love the flavor of these! I got a new cookie scoop for Mother's Day and was asked to make 'gooey' chocolate chip cookies with it. My first batch didn't spread like I wanted, so I flattened the tops with a glass on the rest of them. They are very good and chewy when first out of the oven. Not quite as chewy when cool. I'll make these again, because they are very good, but still in search of the perfect chewy cookie... Thanks!

I loved this recipe, I saw the other reviews and they were right, these were not chewy, they were soft, so I changed a few things. :D I melted the butter before I added it to the sugar, I took the cookies out of the oven a few minutes earlier and let the cool on the pan before putting them on a cooling rack. I then put the cookies in the fridge over night and they came out chewy! :D

These cookies came out very soft and fluffy, not really chewy. The pudding mix did give it a better taste though. I did not have a 3.4 oz package of pudding mix, I had different flavors in the 1 oz size. I ended up using 2 vanillas and 1 cheesecake flavored pudding mix. It gave it a yummy taste!
