Warm from the oven, neither I nor my fiancee liked them. The next day, though, we found they were much better. A great chewy brownie that's hard to match in texture. Like other reviewers noted, they need more chocolate. Good recipe as a starting point but not a keeper as written.

This is the BEST brownie recipe. I have been making it for over a year. Perfectly chewy! I always half the recipe because I can't stop eating them. Take note: if you up the cocoa powder, you have to decrease the flour. Too much dry ingredients will give you a more cake-like consistance.

These were great when warm but when they cooled...wow! Moist and chewy! This is a great brownie recipe. I followed the directions exactly as written...the only modification I might make next time is to add a touch more cocoa.

Absolutely decadent; I will definitely make this one again! I used semi-sweet chocolate chips in place of the nuts because I was fresh out of them...bf looooovvvveeeedddd it; he is a chocoholic. I had to bake mine a little longer, about 30-32 mins. I've been searcing for the perfect made-from-scratch brownie recipe, and now I've found it...so much more easier than the one I've been using that just didn't quite meet perfection the way this recipe has. Thanks for sharing this recipe (:

I have been looking for a recipe to replace a lost one my mom used to make...this is the closest so far...Delicious! I added 1/2 Cup Cocoa instead of 1/3 and also added 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and baked for 25-30 minutes. The edges will satisfy those who like their brownies chewy and the middle will be for those who like it gooey! Best recipe ever!

I love the chewiness of these brownies, but there are two things that will keep me from making this recipe again: 1)they don't have too little chocolate flavor 2)they are too oily (oily enough that if you touch them your fingers get greasy). That oil flavor is too much for me. They are also a little too salty, but that's minor.

I loved these brownies but made a few personal preference changes. I used 1/2 cup cocoa, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 3 tablespoons corn syrup, and only 3 eggs. Baked at 325 for 40 minutes. The brownies turned out wonderful. If it weren't for the raw eggs in the batter, I probably would have had let my two year old have a few more tastes before baking. She absolutely loved it! This was my first time making homemade brownies and will continue to use this recipe.

These were VERY GOOD!!! I also used only 3 eggs since my family likes brownies chewy and not cake-y. The only think i think i would change is the enormous amount of oil needed. I don't know if it was just in my head, but they seemed a little oily. Hubby LOVED LOVED them!! So will definitely make again! Maybe I'll try it will 3/4 cup oil next time! Excellent homemade!

This is the best recipe ever! The corn syrup is that magic ingredient which makes the brownies moist and chewy. And I thought I would have to contend with the box mix. Never again.

really good brownies. Often, it is hard to get the perfect consistency, and these brownies have it. Perfect and chewy on the inside, and chewy and crispy on the outside (my 9 yr old son's exact words!). Chocolatey? Not much, but with the addition of a handful of chocolate chips in the batter, they were perfectly chocolatey. So easy to make, everyone who tried them said they were really good. Thanks for a great recipe!

When I got all my ingredients out to make these, I realized I had already used up all my corn syrup! Since they were mostly made already, I decided to make them anyways! Even without the syrup these were the best brownies I've had in a while! They were still "fudgy" and moist in the middle; nothing like a cake (which is what I always worry about with a new brownie recipe!). I split the batter between two 8" pans and added walnuts to just one (for those that like it). They came out great and were even crispy on the outside, fudgy on the inside the next day still! Thanks for this one...it's a keeper!
