This recipe rocks. The brownies are so chewy and delicious. It's less about presentation than pure yumminess.

Very very good. My changes: 9x9 pan, bake at 325 for about 35 minutes, 1.5 cups sugar, splash of milk. I also added a couple dashes of Jim Beam. Why the whiskey? Why not? Very subtle added flavoring. Take out of the oven while the center is still 'gloopy.'

The batter seemed more like cookie dough than brownie dough. It was pretty stiff to work with but they tasted delicious.

These were really cakey, and I was specifically looking for a chewy brownie recipe. But they still turned out delicious. My fiance loved them and I ate them as well but will still look around for another chewy recipe.

Um can you say deeee liscous. I love chewy desserts when it comes to cookies and brownies. THese were ah mazing. And yes they get hard the next day but you just pop them back in the microwave for like 10 seconds and, voila day old brownies.

I really like these brownies because they are super chewy. The only thing is, they get hard very fast. Perhaps I am over baking them? I have made them three times and I find the best use of them is to bake them and them cut them up and cover them in ganache and people love them!

Made these brownies last night. Was easy to make. I did follow some of the listed modifications though. I used 1/2 cup unsalted butter (on a sodium restricted diet), and 1/4 cup oil. Also added some chocolate chips, and walnuts. They were kind of thin for my taste, next time I will use the 9x9 pan instead of the 9x14; regardless....they were AWESOME!

This is the perfect brownie recipe. I am on a dairy free diet, and I substitute the butter with the same amount of soy butter and it's perfect for my chocolate fix! Today I bought a boxed brownie mix and baked it. I am throwing it out and making these instead, because the mix is just awful!! Nothing compares to these!

These were good but very thick and difficult to spread in the pan. Definitely chewy. KIds liked them.

This recipe always turn out good but it looks like it turns out better if I mix everything very quickly by hand, not mixer. I refer to reviewers' suggestions for amount of ingredients but stick to the original recipe for cooking temperature. After several attempts, for me it's best to bake it at 150 degree Celcius for 30 minutes. I used to get unbaked piece in the center. So I try to fill up the edge of the pan with the batter first and then work its way to the center. This way, the brownies get moist texture more evenly and less unbaked center. I cut the brownies into squares only after it sits for at least 3 hours or overnight.

These are so yummy and easy! I wouldn't change a thing except my mixer (the batter is very thick, use a heavy duty mixer! I broke our hand one! lol).

These brownies are very chewy, very good, but chewy. And teh 9x13 pan didn't work out for me. I think I'm going to use something more square. My brownies came out paper thin, they didn't look too presentable, but tasted very good. You have to like chewy brownies to enjoy these.

These brownies were great! I made the revisions that the other posters suggested and baked mine in a 9x9 pan at 325 for about 30-35 minutes. I also added about 6 oz. milk chocolate chips. They were even better the second day, not dry at all.

The 3 stars are only because they tasted ok but other than that, I did not like this recipe. The mixture is a mess, very sticky. They came out very flat and they crumble easily after the first day.

I followed this recipe exactly, but when I took them out of the oven, they had a baked look on top and gooey mess underneath. I actually had to put them back in the oven for an extra 20 minutes. The first day they were fine, they are very sweet and chocolaty. They did break apart easily though. The second day they were hard and crunchy on the top and chewy underneath. Next time I'll try the others suggestions.

SUPER yummy!!! But they're really crumbly and it's hard to get a piece out in one shape. Really good with chocolate icing with coconuts and almonds. mmmmmm!!

I loved these!! I was having trouble finding a good brownie that wasn't cakey. I prefer chewy and very rich brownies. I added about 1/4 cup vegetable oil and threw in some chocolate chips. The oil helped with how crumby the original mix was and contributed to the chewy texture. I was very happy. The one thing I didn't do is use the paper lining in the pan and it made it impossible to get out of the pan neatly. So definitely don't skip that part! Awesome recipe though.
