Original recipe makes 1 - 9 inch pie Change Servings

1 (9 inch) pie shell
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups white sugar

3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Allow mixture to cool.
In a medium bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Add butter mixture to eggs, beating until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract. Pour mixture into pastry shell.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.

I chose this pie because I was trying to duplicate the one from Furr's. Nope- nothing like it. I wanted a butter chess pie, so this looked like it might work. It's not bad, just not what I was looking for. Too sticky sweet for me. But if that's what YOU are looking for, go for it!

Exactly what I expected, easy to make, and insanely yummy. I used "Butter Flaky Pie Crust" from this site under it, and the combination is perfect.
