Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Allow mixture to cool.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Add butter mixture to eggs, beating until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract. Pour mixture into pastry shell.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.

Pie was extremely easy to make and was demolished by my bofriend and his 14 year old within an hour

I chose this pie because I was trying to duplicate the one from Furr's. Nope- nothing like it. I wanted a butter chess pie, so this looked like it might work. It's not bad, just not what I was looking for. Too sticky sweet for me. But if that's what YOU are looking for, go for it!

Exactly what I expected, easy to make, and insanely yummy. I used "Butter Flaky Pie Crust" from this site under it, and the combination is perfect.

This pie recipe smelled wonderful, looked wonderful but was too heavy on the egg. It was very overpowering

It was super easy to make and it had a good taste but was a little heavy on the egg taste. Might try to make it with one less egg the next time.
