INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in pecans, cherries and vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured 8-in. x 4-in. x 2-in. loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 65-75 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.

This was the dryest bread I have ever eaten. The recipe looked so good but I was embarrassed to serve it at my Tea.

I just made this yesterday,& it is wonderful!! Moist & a very nice taste!! I used powdered Buttermilk, but it was Great!! I will definitely make this again & plan on making Mini loafs to give as Christmas gifts!! I'd give it more Stars if it were possible!! Thanks for a great recipe!!
