This was very good. Everyone came back for seconds. I used a French vanilla cake mix and added a little almond extract to enhance the cherry flavor. I didn't use the cream cheese, but served the cool whip and cherry pie filling as add ons.

"Dream" is right! This cake is delicious. A little time-consuming, yes, but well worth the effort. The result of this cake is so light and flavorful, moist and cool (seeing as it's refrigerated), it's hard to resist having another piece. And wow, that cream cheese and whipped cream topping is perfect with the cherries! I enjoyed this cake very much and will plan to make it again.

this cake would be really good if the 'cool whipped frosting' from this site was used instead of the this frosting made with cream cheese, I love things made with cream cheese but this was heavy and I dont think went well with this cake, the cake itself was awsome, the geletin in it was really good

I tried this cake after seeing it in one of those skinny recipe idea books by the baking section before Christmas. I made it for an office party, and I thought it was okay, but nothing special. My co-workers ate it all and left the store cookies in the box. It did look very pretty.
