FABULOUS!! Many thanks to you & your mom for this recipe. Fresh cherry season is in full swing here in B.C., Canada & I wanted something different to do with them, so took your recipe & substituted 4 cups fresh pitted cherries for the 16 oz. can then simmered them in 1/2 cup water and 1 tsp. lemon juice just til softened. I then drained them, reserving the juice to use in lieu of the canned cherry juice & proceeded with your directions. The "pinwheel" cobbler topping was a real hit with both my husband & my son. As you said it looks so nice & cheerful, a real eye-pleaser. Of course a generous side scoop of natural vanilla ice cream was in order. Added this one to my "keeper" file...thanks again!! P.S. To anyone else trying this recipe be SURE to stir juice mixture frequently until the candies are totally dissolved as they tend to stick a bit.
