I made these cookies for my german I class. Wolfy.

The flavor on these was wonderful - chewy and delicious. They spread out a little more than I expected. Next time I may cut some of the butter out to make a firmer cookie.

I also cut the batch in half and got many cookies. One small melon ball size seemed to make the perfect size cookie. They tasted great!! The only reason I give them a four instead of five stars, is that they fell apart, and did not store well. I carefully placed them in my airtight storage cantainer and when we attempted to eat them the next day they were crumbles(I did let them cool first, I am not a novice baker) If you are planning on making 2 batches, count on 2 jars of cherries. Happy baking!!

Very nice fudge taste to the cookies. The batch was huge. I made very large cookies...and ended up with 70 cookies. I would probably make a half batch next time. If making a whole batch, I would need 2 (16 oz) jars or maraschino cherries. Very easy cookie to make! Thank you.
