1 (8 ounce) package
cream cheese, softened
plain Greek yogurt
pitted, chopped fresh cherries
Oh yum! I don't have an ice cream maker so I improvised. I whirred all the ingredients in my blender (with about a tablespoon of grenadine), leaving out the cherries. I covered it and stuck it in the freezer and let it get really cold and ALMOST frozen before I ran it through the blender again, after which I folded in the cherries. I made little frozen treat pops out of this recipe with dixie cups and popsicle sticks. I was able to get 14 little cups full. I just lined them up on a flat serving tray and stuck them in the freezer until they were just about solid, then stuck the popsicle sticks in them. These are SO good! SO good. We're really loving these little gems. I think this might be our new summer treat--thanks for sharing.
Tasted good but even though I mixed it continually while freezing, it ended-up being almost like 1 big ice cube. Would make great popcicles though.
Use non-fat Greek yogurt and non-fat cream cheese to lower the calories/serving to 130! Still tastes delicious and freezes well. The Greek Yogurt overpowers the cream cheese so it doesn't taste very much like cheesecake but ease of prep and taste make it a recipe worth making again.
Great frozen yogurt recipe, and it was still rich and creamy with low fat cream cheese and low fat yogurt. I used frozen strawberries instead of cherries and chopped them in the food processor.
AMAZING! I don't know why more people haven't tried this and rated it. I cut the recipe in half and followed it perfectly, except I used low fat plain yogurt instead of Greek. No need for an ice cream machine, it'll freeze perfect on it's own! Full of flavor.
Yummy! It is a lot of work to get 2 cups of chopped cherries, but it is worth it!
I used non fat greek yogurt and non fat cream cheese and it came out great.
I only used 3/4 cup of sugar and it is too sweet... I will use 1/2 or 1/3 cup of sugar next time and add a bit of dark chocolate chips next time.
I made this with homemade non-fat yogurt (thick, but not Greek) lowfat cream cheese and fresh picked cherries. It was a little heavy on the fruit for my tastes, but otherwise very tasty and creamy. I will definitely try this again with other fruits and probably less sugar
Made this tangy frozen yogurt on the 4th of July weekend. It was luscious and had lots of eye appeal. Will definitely make this again. Thank you.
