Tasty, but the cake roll stuck to the pan and made a terrible mess to what should be an easy recipe.

Wonderful dessert. I've made it several times now. I also enjoy making it with real whipping cream, whipped till fluffy and with just a little powered sugar added, and fresh fruit such as sliced strawberries, blueberries, etc. I recommend using parchment paper to cook on, and dusting the dish towel with powdered sugar BEFORE rolling up the cake. That way it doesn't stick when you unroll it.

I followed the directions exactly but when I went to unroll the cake, it stuck to the towel. I've made jelly rolls before, but not with angel food cake. Tastes fine as you can't really mess up the flavor of this cake. Probably won't make again as it is too much trouble. It's easier to just torte this, which is what I did with the parts that broke.

Turned out great! Put the finished roll in the freezer for about two hours for easier cutting.

I made this for my uncle who loves angel food cake, and took the second to a pizza party. My uncle was very excited about the cake, but was disappointed when he didn't get the traditional shaped angel food cake! All that disappointment faded as soon as he tasted it! I didn't add the almond extract.
