No processed cheese for me! I used low-fat shredded cheddar, and substituted lean deli ham for the bacon (turkey bacon would work, if you like it. We don't.). Also used cream of onion soup and added some garlic powder.

Love this recipe!! With 4 children, my husband and I need simple recipes and this is exactly that. The kids love it and so do we. Great flavor and you can add whatever else you want. We add leftover roast chicken from the deli and onions. The chicken adds even more flavor. Try it!

This is amazing...and so easy. I had some leftover box chicken rice from the weekend and wanted something to make it great. Had everything on hand already. Made 2 changes...did half milk and half and half (to make it really creamy) and added some green onions as a topping. We ate this up. Definate keeper for us. Thanks for the post.

Good idea, but the processed cheese didn't work for me. I will try this again with modifications- different cheese- maybe cheese soup?

My 14 year old LOVES this soup. My husband and I enjoy it too, but for me the best thing about this recipe is how incredibly easy it is to prepare and the fact that it is one of what I call my "Pantry Dinners". I always have these ingredients on hand so when it gets to the end of the week and I haven't had a chance to go grocery shopping I can whip this dinner out and everyone is happy.

Considering how easy this is to prepare, it's clearly a five-star recipe. Great taste with little effort! I used a six ounce box of off-brand chicken rice pilaf, which took twenty minutes (for the rice to simmer), but was well worth the time. I didn't have bacon on hand so I used 1/2 bottle of Real Bacon Bits. Finally, I didn't have condensed Cream of Potato Soup, so I used Creamy Chicken Rice. The result of this recipe made it seem like I spent two hours or more on it. Amazing.
