This is even better if you make it and then store it in the refrigerator over night. All the bitterness disappears but you still get the interesting, rich taste of the turnip.

Excellent combination of ingredients. My hubby and I loved this recipe. The one modification I made was that I used a mild baby swiss cheese (because I had it here) instead of the cheddar. It was delicious.

This is so good.... However I increased the amount and came to the conclusion that this would be a great soup by increasing the veggie stock from cooking the turnips and carrots. My 5 year old picky eating son loved it.. So good I didn't really taste the ginger. This will be a weekly go to soups...

I had a bunch of CSA veggies that included carrots, turnips, kale, chard and cabbage....I threw it all in and served it over brown rice. It was delish! On top of that my 6 year old and 2 year old ate all their veggies which isn't always easy!

I added some garlic in while I sauteed the onions and dropped the celery altogether - no on in my familhy likes celery. In the future, I will put in more turnips and carrots since the finished product was a little more "saucey" than my personal preference. Everyone really liked the dish at Thanksgiving.

I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty this was! I had a bunch of turnips to use from out farm box this week, and no one in my family really cares for them. This recipe seemed like a somewhat family-friendly use for the turnips, so I gave it a try. It was quite easy to put together, and I didn't make any changes to the recipe. The cheese sauce is really tasty...I love the twist the ginger gives to the flavor! I did have at least a cup of sauce leftover, though, after the vegetables were well covered. If I make this again, I'd definitely cut back on the sauce recipe. Other than that, I have no complaints...delicious! Thanks for sharing!

I was searching for a recipe that will use up my turnips otherwise they would just go to waste. I'm glad I found this one! I've actually never tried to cook turnips before and this recipe turned out great! Really, it's smothered in cheesy sauce... who wouldn't like that? My boyfriend and I loved it. I followed the recipe exactly. It was a little runny, but it sat on the stove for about 10 minutes while my chicken was cooking, and it thickened up nicely. Thanks Sandra!
