I used spaghetti sauce instead of tomato sauce. The white sauce was a little strange.

I gave this 4 stars because of all the additions I had to make, after the additions I would definitely give it 5 stars. I added ground beef, fresh mushrooms, onions, fresh tomatoes, basil and oregano to the tomato sauce and garlic to the white sauce. Did not add the eggs! Delicious!!!

Got a big thumbs up from the entire crew! I made it with our favorite jarred sauce and cooked the entire meal in a 9x13 pan. Made enough for our family of six!

Made this for dinner last night, following the directions exactly. It was okay, but not great. Way to dry. Pasta layer needs a lot more sauce. White sauce layer can't get past the cheese. Will try this again, but will put the cheese on top.

I've made this recipe many, many times. My family loves it. A few things I have learned along the way...use less eggs. I use 2 instead of 4. And, we love cheese so I add a little extra mozzarella. I also use a jar of spaghetti sauce instead of canned tomato sauce and add extra garlic and salt to the white sauce.

Oh yum! I made this for the first time for dinner with friends. It was delicious. I added chicken that I had cooked with onion and added breadcrumbs, then instead of tomato sauce I used Newman's Own basil marinara. It was so awesome! Thanks for the great recipe. I will make it again this week!

My family loved this recipe! I put it together exactly as the recipe called for but I used a 9x13 pan and baked it all. I also found it easier to use a 26oz. jar of spaghetti sauce which added a nice flavor and I added 1/4 tsp. pepper and a smidgen of garlic powder to the white sauce as it was cooking. But I really believe that it would be just as wonderful without any changes!! We'll definitely be eating this again.

We browned chicken tenders in olive oil and added them to it to make a poor mans chicken parm. Next time will have italian sausage per kids request. Very good empty pan when done.We also used it all and did not freeze any. So it will serve 5 boys.

I served this at my daughter's 1st Birthday to a party of 12 people. My children don't eat meat and neither did some of my guests so it was a wonderful filling dish for everyone. Even meat eaters liked it and didn't seem to miss anything. I doubled the recipe and made 2 13x9 dishes. There was more than enough. It was a great base recipe that you can add anything to or prepare the recipe as is for a meatless dish. With each casserole, I mixed the pasta with a 26 oz. jar of sauce and added lots of garlic to the white sauce. I thought it was very flavorful. I will make this again and try adding different meats and vegetables. I also made both casseroles the night before I was going to cook it and from the refridgerator to the oven it took about an hour for a cold 13x9 casserole to cook.

I did alot of additions. I sauted diced onions and garlic in with the butter. Then added salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the white sauce. With the tomato sauce I added fresh oregano, parsley, basil, tsp. of sugar, pepper, salt and red chili flakes. I paired it with a salad and the kids actually asked for seconds!

This recipe was awesome. The only change I made was to add spaghetti sauce like some of the other reviewers. I also halved it so I would not have to freeze any. I loved this and I will add it to my meal permanent meal rotation.

Really I was hoping for the best with this recipe...cheese and pasta with sauce...yummy. But this recipe is missing something. Even adding italian seasoning and using a jar of "flavored" spaghetti sauce, it is pretty lacking in flavor. I realize that this would be a nice meatless alternative, but it could really use sausage or meatballs, or even grilled veggies maybe?

This was pretty good. Husband and both sons seem to like it. Tastes like lasagna without the meat and heavy sauce. VERY easy to make. Only problem was the rigatoni on the bottom of the pan was a little too crispy. Next time I will cook for a little shorter time or be sure to check on it.

Really good and easy to prepare. Could be a great "meatless" dish. I followed the directions except for the tomato sauce part. I substituted prepared spaghetti sauce that included sausage and peppers. The overall flavor was just perfect in the end. I did not have any trouble with the eggs, but I did add a couple of tablespoons of milk to 3 eggs instead of 4, and beat the eggs very well before I added them to the rigatoni. Even my picky eater enjoyed this dish. Thanks for sharing!

I gave this recipe a 5 because I read the reviews and fixed it up. I added garlic and pepper to the butter and flour then melted in asiago and romano cheese. I used plain tomato sauce (double the amount)and added italian seasoning along with oregano and basil. It made a very large amount, next time I will add ground meat. My whole family loved it. The egg worked fine for me, next time I will stir in the tomato sauce with the pasta.

The best part of this is the topping. I add garlic to the butter and put it on top of other pasta dishes.
